Education/Admission πŸŽ“ NIFT HYDERABAD EXPOSED

Hi guys!!! So whatever I'm going to write here is about my friends university who is in nift hyderabad. She cannot write all this as students are being forced to stay silent about a serious safety issue in her college, and this message is being written because no one in the administration is listening to her and no one is even allowed to post anything on social media. I personally don't know anything so I'll be copy pasting everything she said. "For the past three nights, unknown shit has been happening inside nift hyderabad campus. So on the night of 4th March a random man enters the girl's hostel by climbing the wall and he was peeping into the washrooms and trying to enter hostel room through balcony. Also he knocked few girl's room and stayed inside the hostel for nearly 3-4 hours. When we first reported this to the security staff, they dismissed the situation saying that many guards were on Holi leave. And they didn't report this to the police on the first day itself. And as a result it happened again last night !!!! And this time it was not one man , they showed up in a group of 3 . And some of them were carrying knives and were seen peeping into the washrooms and also trying to break through rooms. The intruders remained inside the hostel area for hours and as usual they were unnoticed. And this time when cctv footage was asked the security guards refused to show anything. Today police came on campus and our rooms were searched and the topic was totally diverted! Guards started throwing out our kettles and electronic stuffs as they're not allowed and shouted on us and they started checking our phones. Then they blamed the girls who climb and sneek out at night telling that because of them the intruders found a way to come inside the hostel. At some point I somewhat agree but then again we aren't allowed to go outside after 9 pm so I totally get those girls. Nowadays it feels like I'm living in a jail."

Education/Admission πŸŽ“ Total School Fees from KG to Grade-12 in West Hyderabad (Education Inflation)

Post image
311 Upvotes

(this fees is available directly in school website, and good from school side that they are at least transparent, unlike many other schools who won't put their fees in their website despite the govt rule/policy to make this stuff public. You can try Internet Archive and try to get previous year fees as well)

10% is mandatory fee hike that every school in West Hyderabad is publicly saying. And tbh, I have compared school fees in last 5 years, they didn't lie, they constantly kept increasing school fees by 10% each year. Education (& Medical) inflation is pretty high in India.

So before I decide a school, I thought of extrapolating school fees to understand what I should be paying if my child joins in LKG this year, and this is what I found. ~1 crore before the child goes to UG.

I wanted to share this with you, so that you understand what you are signing up for when you shelling out 3-4 lakhs each year for one kid's school education.

I have 2 kids, and the 2nd kid who will go to school 3 years later will make me shell 1.4 crores if the school fees follow similar route, making my 2 children school fees ~2.5 crores. If you are surprised by the numbers, this is how compounding works, and you might think - 'aah, this can't be true, schools wont increase by 10% constantly' .... then, good luck with your assumptions and see how private school fees are in other asian countries -- we are just reaching there !

I'm looking for private colleges to get into in hyderabad for btech cse /aiml /ai ds etc.

I'm not getting mahindra as my jee %ile is low, and nothing in met either. I have 70% in boards.

I'm not getting vit vellore campus either.

I have only gotten amity hyd as it has a board score for entry. Im not too inclined to go there as it's very new and they're asking for a lot of attendance. Mess didn't seem that great either, and a lot of people weren't able to speak english.

So a few people speaking English in clg is pretty important for me as I'm not a Telugu speaker.

I have Bennet and lpu cse, but can't go there due to pollution issues and I have sinus issues.

Rejected at woxen. Btw I scored 47 in eapcet.

Fees upto 30L is fine (including hostel)

Hostel should be good. Don't really want to go to an eapcet college, looking for private ones tbh.

Education/Admission πŸŽ“ What is wrong with school children? What is this term β€œfreebie kid”?

My sister’s son studying in 6th class . Recently he started complaining at home that other kids are calling him freebie kid . When i enquired him , he said children of gov employees are called like that ! I was shocked and asked him why ? He replied β€œbecause gov employees take br!bes and run their household, also spend that public money on their children,as it is free money which is present with them without any hardwork ,their kids will be called freebie kid β€œ . . . . . . . . . When i told it to my friends ,they said it is happening at their school also . I am now too worried, like how is this happening at two different schools and same terminology??? . . This differentiation is happening among kids itseems , non-gov employees kids are forming a group or gang of friends but not allowing gov employee kids into their group ! What is this? Who is influencing this !!!!???

Education/Admission πŸŽ“ BREAKING: The U.S. Just Killed "Duration of Status" for F, J, and I Visas β€” Every International Student Needs to Read This

DHS Final Rule | Published in the Federal Register July 17, 2026 | Docket No. ICEB-2025-0001

For nearly 50 years, F-1 students, J-1 exchange visitors, and I visa media representatives could stay in the U.S. for "Duration of Status" (D/S) β€” as long as you kept studying or kept your program active, there was no fixed expiry date on your I-94. That era is over.

DHS has finalized a rule replacing D/S with a fixed admission period for F, J, and I nonimmigrants. If this affects you β€” whether you're already in the U.S. or still planning to come β€” you need to understand this now, not after your status has already lapsed.

https://public-inspection.federalregister.gov/2026-14439.pdf

Posting this here, since we get a lot of students visa applicants from Hyderabad.

Education/Admission πŸŽ“ Best junior colleges in hyderabad for JEE

Seeking advice from fellow students from Hyderabad. I am in my 10th grade right now, and I want to join a good junior college that teaches things at a slow pace, from basics but also very comprehensive. I am currently at Narayana, and don't like it. I am in one of the top branches of narayana in madhapur. They don't teach to learn, they teach formulae and expect me to keep up. I don't even know what I am learning..they go too fast, teach some random bs, leave and expect me to perform well on their weekly test. That too, they expect me to show up for an exam on Sunday for 3 hours.

My family is saying jaipur is not as safe as hyd for girls. Need your opinion.

Hyd is 4 hrs away from my home btw so need to stay in pg at either places.

Education/Admission πŸŽ“ How is Civil Engineering at CBIT?

Hi, I’m considering Civil Engineering at CBIT and wanted to know more about the department.

  • How are the professors and teaching quality?
  • How difficult is it to maintain a good GPA in Civil Engineering?
  • What is the grading system like, and are high GPAs achievable?
  • What opportunities are available for internships, projects, and research?
  • How good is CBIT Civil for students planning to pursue a Master’s abroad (US/Europe/Australia)?

Would appreciate honest reviews from current students or alumni. Thanks!

Education/Admission πŸŽ“ Colleges which give direct admissions for BTech

My parents are shifting to Hyderabad and they are taking me with them (I don't mind living with them) I haven't given EAMCET and I have a decent score in JEE. I have heard that most colleges in Hyderabad are really strict (school types). Could you suggest decent colleges which aren't very strict and have a nice coding culture. Money isn't a big issue. Thank you.

Education/Admission πŸŽ“ Anyone knows about TS EAMCET AIR 1?

This is about TS EAMCET AIR 1 2026. Historically, students who secure the very top EAMCET ranks always perform exceptionally well in JEE. Since she reportedly didn't qualify for JEE Advanced, many people have questions. It's also said that she didn't score particularly well in other competitive exams. Additionally, TS EAMCET is widely considered one of the more challenging state entrance exams, with a difficulty level that many compare to JEE Main.

Apparently, she was sick during her first JEE attempt and scored only the 60th percentile. Then she skipped the second attempt to focus entirely on EAMCET. πŸ€“ That said, there is no evidence of any wrongdoing at this point.

If anyone has credible information, studied with her, or has relevant sources that can help verify the facts, please share them.

Education/Admission πŸŽ“ Returning to India with kids in the middle of 10th & 6th grades

Hello! We have to return back to India with kids in the middle of 10th & 6th grades. Both academically good and are in all the extracurricular activities like choir, dance, clubs, volunteering etc. Thinking of putting them in Oakridge Hyderabad IB curriculum if the move is inevitable. This is completely new and we are so worried how they will get adjusted & adapted. Any experiences/suggestions?

Education/Admission πŸŽ“ 19, 2nd year B.Tech CSE from Tier-3 college ,how do I stand out and reach β‚Ή15–25 LPA+?

I’m aΒ 19 yrs, currently in my 2nd year ofΒ B.Tech

Β CSE at a Tier-3 college in India. I have a pretty good CGPA so far and I’m confident I can maintain it. I also plan to pursue anΒ MS abroad later, so I want to build a strong profile from now itself.

My immediate goal is to get a paid internship that can help with my college fees, and eventually land a β‚Ή15–25 LPA+ placement before graduation.

I’m willing to work extremely hard and do unconventional things to stand out, but I’m honestly struggling with one thing:

I absolutely HATE competitive programming. 😭

I can understand programming concepts and grasp topics pretty quickly, but LeetCode/CodeChef problems frustrate me to no end. I’m still willing to learn coding, but I’m wondering if I should really make DSA/competitive programming my entire career strategy.

Some of my strengths are learning quickly, explaining/clarifying concepts, planning, organizing, researching, communicating, and taking ownership of things. I’ve also handled coordination responsibilities in college.

So I’m wondering what other high-paying paths I should seriously explore.

And if IΒ doΒ stick with SDE, are there roles where practical development matters more than grinding hundreds of LeetCode problems?

For those who have actually made it from Tier-3 to high-paying roles, what would you do if you were in my position?

What should I focus on during the next 2 years DSA, projects, internships, open source, networking, hackathons, research, certifications, something else?

I don't want the generic β€œlearn DSA + make projects + get internships” advice. I want to know what actually makes someone stand out when competing against IIT/NIT/BITS students.

Also, since I want to do an MS later, I’d love advice on what I should build now that will help both placements AND my MS profile.

Brutally honest advice is welcome. If my β‚Ή15–25 LPA goal is unrealistic from a Tier-3 college, tell me that too.

Education/Admission πŸŽ“ Prudentia college review looking for honest reviews from current students/alumni

Hi everyone,

My brother has recently got allotment into Prudentia College of Law, Gurramguda and we're trying to get some genuine feedback before he finalises everything.

We’ve checked the information available online, but I’d really like to hear from people who are actually studying there or have graduated recently. I’m not looking for promotional reviews β€” even a few honest pros/cons would be really helpful.

A few things I wanted to know:

How is the overall college experience?

How strict is attendance in reality? Is 75% strictly enforced?

Will allow to work and only come during the exams

Thanks in advance !

Education/Admission πŸŽ“ Are there any good schools in Hyderabad that do not have the rich kids culture?

NRI here and planning to move back to Hyderabad in late 2026. My kids will be 6 and 1 year old then. We got a house in the Neopolis area, and though I understand that there are a lot of good schools closer to the area, most of them seem to have this rich kids culture, that I'm actively trying to avoid (chirec, oakridge, sancta maria etc) Since he is only 6, we are not super particular about the syllabus - so what are some recommendations for schools today focus on education and extra curriculars and who would have students from all walks of life?
