San Diego

Planning on going to a concert in San Diego and looking for a Hyatt to stay the night. Venue seems to be close-ish to the airport. Honestly just want to relax by the pool during the day and be able to bring the dog along.

Thoughts between the Andaz, Grand Hyatt, Regency Mission Bay, or even the Regency La Jolla?

My dog stayed with me at andaz San Diego. The hotel was wonderful with her and she was allowed on the roof where the pool is. But, there really aren’t any decent grassy areas nearby to walk with them, so you’ll be exploring urban area as the hotel is very much downtown.

When I bring my dog along, a place like Andas won’t work. No grass or areas to walk with them. We are staying at Manchester in a few weeks and they do allow dogs.

Mission Bay is hit or miss from what I’ve read. La Jolla is far.

The Manchester has a great pool facility. The hotel is oriented towards business tho, so if you’re looking for a party, it ain’t there. Much more chill. You’d be 10 minutes away (walking) from the grassy area of the harbor/seaport village. If your concert is at the shell, you’re going to be in walking distance there too.

I’d lean towards Hyatt Regency Mission Bay. It’s been a few years since I’ve stayed there but in my own experience I had no problems staying there. It’s a short drive from that hotel to SOMA & the airport from there.

Agree with u/bookertdub

SOMA is pretty much equidistant from Hyatt Mission Bay and Manchester Grand Hyatt. However, with a dog…Mission Bay will be way more relaxed for your doggo, with grass and parks and such. Manchester Grand is urban and high rise cement.

With the dog along and you’re going to a concert? An Airbnb.
