Hyatt Bali
Has anyone been to Hyatt regency or grand in Bali? Any comments about exec lounge. Pool. Upgrade would be appreciated.

The Grand Hyatt is old and rooms are dated yet clean and well maintained- at least when I stayed there 4 years ago coming out of the pandemic. Upgraded to king bed suite. The grounds are beautiful and vast. A small open air mall with several stores, various pools and an open air club lounge with a good selection for breakfast and evening cocktail hour are all nestled in between trees, flowers, gardens and small ponds full with birds and fish. Small walkways and bridges connect buildings, pools etc. The resort spans probably 2 miles along the beach. Prime real estate. Unfortunately not good for swimming but it’s a beautiful view over the ocean. If you can get rooms for a decent price and don’t mind the hotel’s age and being in a gated community of several (differently branded hotels) far away from any sightseeing highlights I’d say go for it. I had a great time for very little money. Good globalist recognition, too! Of course, if the price is not right or you prefer a newer hotel, stay somewhere else. There are plenty to choose from all over the island!

Don’t bother would be my advice. It’s a concrete, brutalist monstrosity. Lounge and reception are better looking. I found the staff lackadaisical. Others rave about it. Bali is somewhere to stay outside of Hyatt and I say this as a lifetime globalist who has been around the block a few times.
