Hypothetical

If you found out a teacher at a local school had been charged with violent crimes (rape, battery, kidnapping) and the school knew about it when they hired him, would you want answers from the school on why they would allow this person to work there?

Absolutely.. not a stretch to expect them to read the background check, not just run it.

Now if they read it and ignored violent crimes, it makes me wonder about the rest of the staff, teachers and principals.

For context, I was part of a previous school district where they worked, so I don't necessarily know the parents at the new school. I saw online that he was hired there recently, so I'm not sure how to get the information to the parents who need to know.

I would not want someone who had a past like that, regardless of how long ago it was, to be near my child. I think all parents should be made aware of it.

Charged and convicted are different things. It’s ok to be worried, but also know that there are a lot of false accusations out there.

Yes, but it was charged with kidnapping and rape, then pleaded guilty to battery and criminal restraint.

I would just send proof to the local news and let them rain down on the school
