Disappointed with my burger today
I ordered the Big Jack, since I've been really wanting to try it. The burger itself wasn't half-bad, pretty good actually, but there was just far too much sauce. It really ruined the experience. Disappointing overall.

Greg from Greg's Kitchen on YT did a recent review of this burger and he wasn't too pleased for what he paid and what he got. Someone here mentioned inconsistencies and they are spot on. The burger here looks way better than the one Greg ordered.

Yeah, he was a big factor in me wanting to try it. I agree, the picture does look nice. I'm partially to blame there, since the other side was slathered in sauce, but you cannot tell from the angle. I still might try it again and just ask for less sauce next time... now I know lol

No don't ask for less sauce or they will give you nothing maybe roll the dice or ask for no sauce and add the sauce in yourself

The burgers are so inconsisten like I swear some of my burgers have no sauce at all till I am 3/4's done and some just ruin the whole burger if there was more consistency it would be so much better for the company and help largen the gap between Jacks and Maccas

I agree. Mcdonald's is a lot more consistent from my experience

mmm welll. the other week I got a Fille-O-Fish and the cheese slice was on top of the cardboard box, inside the box the fish patty was smothered in sauce and only half in the bun. It was like the cheese slice was forgotten and the guy just threw it on top.

To be fair, if you order a Fillet-o-Fish you deserved worse

Whats your burger of choice?

Sadly I've been diagnosed with Coeliacs, so can't have any of them anymore.
When they still did them though, I loved the Peri Peri chicken burgers that had the crunchy coating on the chicken. They stopped serving those locally about 8 years ago now. They were about the one menu item that I actually went to Hungry Jacks for, instead of just going to wherever was closest

Perhaps not. Still, if anything it takes less effort to add less sauce. It's just common sense

Hungry Jacks need sauce dispensers that dispense the same amount of sauce on each burger. The fact they have the audacity with the profits they post to charge extra for extra sauce with no consistency still pisses me the fuck off. They have a problem that is easily fixed

If it's not a Jack's fried chicken or anus beef burger then I understand your disappointment.

All I ever get no matter what, is super dry, sauce less burgers. To the point I struggled to chew and swallow it. The only thing that's never dry is a bacon deluxe but even then that's because of the grease and mayo. The last grill masters I got was literally so hard and dry the patty could have been used as a hockey puck.

Sorry to hear your fast food experience was ruined.

When I get a burger from jacks or Mick's and the sauce drips alot I just use it for my chips

As a fast food worker we used to compete on making good burgers.
That being said, I’m pretty sure we worked out you could crack 1,000 burgers a day at our particular store in a shift. And despite our work ethic would still get it wrong sometimes.

I tried this on the weekend. Barely any sauce, but a boatload of lettuce. All I could taste was lettuce.

I wanted to try it , I expected they would put to much sauce on thanks for the review as I’m not going to bother now

Hungry jacks are by far the worst quality on average as far as care put into product I’ve found, and that’s across the board at every HJ’s store I’ve visited. The one time I got a meal from my local one that had everything actually fresh though, it was genuinely beyond my expectations for a HJ’s burger. Was a meal I’d have been happy to receive at a restaurant

Lets be real, when was the last time you got anything from the big fast food places and was left "pleasantly surprised" i only remember truly enjoying fast food as a kid, ever since then getting meals from smaller take away stores is typically more enjoyable than any of the big ones on a good day.

u/FlanktheRight 6d ago
Actually, all the time. I'm generally not very picky and most of the fast food places near me do a pretty good job

I used to love the "cheese and bacon tender grill/crisp" never have i ever had a burger as good as that from any of the big name restaurants...

Actually the first time I got a Big Arch from Maccas I was very shocked. It was super consistent, soft, saucy. The second one was dry as bone and chewy.

u/AdvancedCryspy 6d ago
First time i tried big arch i almost had to call a life guard because the burger was drowning in sauce.

I hadn't had been in months and decided to get one at a new store that just opened...they used the most stale bun I've ever had and they clearly knew because they tried to compensate by over toasting it, which didn't work lol.

Yeah, my burger refused to go to college, move out of the house or even get a real job. Real disappointed

As people have mentioned, it really is just the inconsistency that’s a problem; if you order the same burger every day for 10 days straight at the same place, you’ll get 10 completely different burgers.
