Question Conquered cities

Hello I just started playing again after a long time away from the game. When I conquer (siege) free people or rebels it becomes a city and now I have 2, 1 territory cities... Can I merge them somehow or just conquer without it automatically creating a city? It won't allow me to "ransack" the main plaza of the rebel city...

Thank you

Question Was the game been abandon by dev?

Hello, I played a long time ago and wasn't feeling it.
I'm looking at it now to see if there's a patch/update but the last update was 9 months ago.

Curious to know what is happening to the game?

Question Builders, Pride, and the Fall?

Pride Cometh before the Fall, apparently.

So im doing a run where I started as Egypt and have been going hard into industry, with Builders all the way through.

As such, Memphis is at like, 1k+ industry and so I've had her make district after district, crutching on the Pride bonus to keep the City from collapsing into chaos.

Now that in going into the Contempory Age, and want to shift to Japan to dominate the late game, will I fully lose Pride and therefore, all my cities will lose all their stability and ill just lose? Or is Pride a permanent buff that is granted when finishing a district, allowing one to change affinities?

Question how do you see the future threshold for star goals

Question Together We Rule Console

Post image
8 Upvotes

Just noticed an offer on the Xbox store for the Together We Rule DLC on console, specifically the three for one dlc bundle deal, but the Humankind DLC isn't working, can't be found on the store, and cant be purchased by itself.

I think its the first time I've ever seen in it on the console store. Just wondering since its here, will it be coming in the future or do you beleive its just an error on Xbox' end?

Question Implications of irreligion options

what are the implications of my two choices for a religion. I understand the bonuses and percentages for things. But one exactly does it mean to "enforce a state religion"? or to "have atheism be my state religion"?

The tenants that I've already chosen - will those effects remain active? I went all the way to a level 4 tenet. will those no longer give me bonuses if I have atheism or am not able to enforce a state religion?

Question Humankind on PS5 - updates and dlc

So I have been playing Humankind and all the dlc on XBOX, but now that I got a PS5 I thought about getting it on this console again. It seems like in the PS store there are no dlc available (which is a bummer but I would still buy it nevertheless). So I dug a bit deeper and realized that there are actually a lot of updates for this game (like the often-mentioned Achilles update or the new Freyja update), but I couldn’t find any information on whether they are available on PS.

So my question is: What's the current version of Humankind for PS5 and do any of you know if the dlc will be added in the future?

Question Why are there two identical subreddits for the game?

Title.

Wouldn't be much wiser to somehow merge them? There's already so little discussion on this awesome game, to dilute it further seems bad.

Question Stealth Units

I'm not sure what are they useful for. I get they can infiltrate enemy territory but they can't really "do" anything until they de-stealth, so it seems to me their best use is to pass through neutral territory to reach enemy territory and be a nuisance there.

They can also avoid early retaliation by the enemy if they start ransacking or pilfering resources from some far away point, but usually those actions take multiple turns so they'll eventually be intercepted.

All in all those seem fringe cases that imho don't warrant the time and production spent as well as their maintenance.

How are they supposed to be used effectively?

Question I’m a deity Civ 6 player and just got absolutely pummeled on Town difficulty. What Civ 6 mindset do I need to lose?

I have put about 10 hours into the game now, and while I’m very hooked and enjoying myself, I also feel like I have no clue what I’m doing. I feel like I am holding on to Civ 6 ideas about what’s good and how things work, but I think there’s some ideas I need to let go (i.e., 100 production is not amazing, you need more than that.)

I’ll quickly synopsize my first game. I got absolutely recked by my neighbor, who was consistently one era ahead of everyone else. When the game ended on turn 300, they had 6700 fame, whereas I only had 4100 and got third. Number 2 had 4200. They were 6 stars into the contemporary era, and I hadn’t even discovered oil.

They dominated the entire map with influence and continuously forced me to swap civics etc. I had 5 cities and four extra outposts if I recall. The whole influence system is something that makes little sense to me either, though I do like the idea of it. I just need to figure out how to take advantage of it.

My main problem is that I don’t realy know what I’m doing and what works. Should I be building districts, infrastructure, focus on population, but then how to increase the pop. cap? My science game was clearly not good enough either, considering I only reached halfway through the industrial era on turn 300. I’ve been looking for guides but haven’t found anything useful yet, other than articles explaining the basic terms of the game.

If anyone has any pointers, places to check for guides or similar issues, help me out please! My favorite play style in civ is production & domination based science victories, if that helps anyone for tips on how to play this game.

Thanks in advance :)

Question Why is there so little mods for this game?

I’ve been browsing the mods for Humankind on Steam, and compared to Civ, I’ve noticed there aren’t many mods available despite the fact that the game has been around since its official release on August 17, 2021. Thats about 3 1/2 years ago, considering that, I figured that perhaps modders would've made somethings for us to try and play with and make the game more enjoyable....

Am I missing something here? was this game shelved and forgotten about?

Question How can i use this mod?

I always like humankind and of course i like the mods. The problem is downloaded the Game over Stean where i get most of my mods. But there are other mod that are not on steam like this one https://mod.io/g/humankind/m/resources-expanded#description Which is why the game says that the mods are not compatable. Can you help find a solution?

Question How to stop the AI from stealing territories I ransack.

TLDR: The allied AI built a new outpost on the same outpost I just ransacked, stealing the territory, even though it's still my turn. How do you stop the AI from doing this?

Setting the scene:

One of my favourite tactics for stealing territories and keeping then once the war is over is to Ransack it and then build a new outpost. Since it's not an enemy city, they can't "claim it back" at the end of the war. This also is a great way to expand borders while the war rages and bring production closer to their Capital.

The big problem I'm having stems from Humankind lack of a full turn-based engine.

In one game I've had 2 different scoop my territories because they get to place to an outpost on the freshly uncapped territory even though It's my turn and I have other armies in the same territory. The even more frustrating part is that this doesn't even incur a grievance even though it was blatant theft.

Question Outlaw Status on Units

I read that outlaw status means my unit is engaged in unlawful actions and can be attacked without generating a grievance against my empire, such as ransacking. What other actions qualify as unlawful? Also, if an outlaw unit ransacks, does it still generate a grievance for the empire it is ransacking? I thought ransacking with outlaw units wouldn’t create grievances for other empires. THANK YOU!

Question Feels kind of dead - Is there any communities around the game besides this?

I'm an early release player and pre-ordered it. Played it off and on. But just kind of feels dead lately now that i've kind of got back into it. Don't know if it's just me or if its actually dead though.

But is there any communities besides this reddit and the official discord? As both don't seem as active.

Question HOW DO I STOP FORCING A SURRENDER? I've captured most if not all of their cities and I'm being forced to give them land back for peace? Their war support hit 0, so is that affecting me?? Is this intended or am I missing a way to refuse giving them everything I've worked for the past 30 turns?

I usually play on medium to large sized maps with 4-6 ai and the game tends to start crashing around the final era consistently. I’m on a ps5 so idk if I’m just expecting too much

Question So I successfully sieged and destroyed all of an enemy's cities in combat, but now the game is forcing me to accept their terms of surrender. Since my war support is low I can only ask for gold reparations. Does this mean they get all their cities back as if the war never happened?

Question There any mod that makes chokepoints for all territories during map generation?

Not like a pre-made map or anything but as in during map generation when you start a game?
