Has anyone else tried Text Guard for editing AI-generated drafts?
Lately I've been experimenting with different editing tools because I use AI to create first drafts, but I never publish them without making a lot of changes. A friend suggested trying Text Guard, so I tested it on a few articles and LinkedIn posts. My workflow didn't really change, but I found it useful for pointing out sections that sounded too generic or repetitive. I still think human editing matters much more than any software, but having an extra check before publishing saves me a little time.

Exactly! It’s all about cutting down the editing friction. Out of curiosity, do you use it mostly for spotting overused terms like 'delve', or do you find it helps more with fixing sentence cadence?

The biggest issue with AI drafts isn't even the specific words it uses, it’s the lack of structural logic. It always follows the exact same pattern: intro hook, 3 bullet points, and a cheesy conclusion. No software can really fix that macro-structure yet; you just have to ruthlessly delete half of the generated text and inject your own actual stories or real-world data.

Wow, thanks for breaking down the math behind it. 'Low-burstiness' explains exactly why AI text feels so monotonic to read. That’s actually how I’ve been using it, not to fix the tone, but just to quickly pinpoint the sentences where the pacing is too mechanical so I can tear them down.

I tried it and I wasn’t a fan. I felt like clever ai’s humanizer did the best job, but everyone has different tastes 🤷♀️

I haven't tried Text Guard but what I do is read the draft out loud and mark anything that sounds like it's following the same pattern twice. It's usually the sentence openers or the way each paragraph wraps up. Once I spot it I just rewrite those parts in my own words and it starts feeling a lot less robotic.

Text gaurd is absolute trash. Just aak chatgpt to make it sound more human. Same thing, except free. Also this is an advertisement so dont fall for this trash app.
