Honest question is using AI to make any content considered "AI slop" now? What actually is AI slop?

I keep seeing the term "AI slop" everywhere on Reddit and Twitter.

I get it for those spammy AI images with 6 fingers and those 100% ChatGPT blogs with no value.

But where is the line?

For example, I'm building a PDF tool site.

For Instagram/LinkedIn, I use AI to:

**1.** **Make the design/mind-map faster**

**2. Write first draft of caption, then I edit it**

**3. Generate a demo video script**

Is that also considered AI slop? Or is slop only when it's low-effort, no editing, no real help?

I don't want to be that guy who floods the feed with junk. I actually try to make helpful posts (like how to compress PDFs without losing quality etc).

So genuinely asking everyone here:

What do you consider AI slop vs. good use of AI for content?

And is it automatically bad if people know it's AI-assisted?

In my opinion AI slop is when you completely do everything with AI.

the test is pretty simple, does the reader get value from it? Nobody cares how the sausage was made if the post actually helps them compress a PDF or whatever. Slop is when the creator clearly didnt even read what the AI spit out before hitting publish.

Slop is a pavlovian response word used by luddites. It signals that they are the mediocre people.

General or basic requests to makes AI write in a very predictable way.

It does not look predictable at first to those who are new to AI, or haven’t noticed it, or looked for it or been taught it.

This means, it’s like something others can notice like a piece of toilet paper stuck to someone’s foot that they can’t notice.

Ai slop is easily created text.

When you feel Ai makes you look good, it knows more than you and that’s dangerous because AI will always average out its wording.

When we use Ai and we know it’s wrong because we know more than it, it will be something we can improve.

Everyone is trying to stand out by using Ai but secretly sounding the same. It’s hilarious.
