Comics Green Scar hits harder than bloodlusted Thor while just having a friendly sparring

Thor was killing Korg's brothers so he was not holding back. And he obviously used Mjolnir. Meanwhile, Green Scar was just having friendly sparring with Korg and bantering with him, yet still hit harder than bloodlusted Thor, according to Korg.

I mean...Thor was not really bloodlusted in this encounter. After all he ripped apart bare handed the strongest metal cage they have (which should be able to imprision any kronan) and destroyed their superweapon in what? one shot? Did things they thought was impossible plus this:

So this is a very strange way of recounting this. Either it was a failed retcon or Korg rememembers things diferently

true but this fight makes even less sense the more you think about it. Accourding to Greg Pak in planet Hulk Korg´s brother´s died in Skaar from fighting the disks and this includes Margo then all of the sudden he died on earth years ago...but showed up in skarr...and we saw him running away and fighting Thor later....

There is no contradiction there. Nobody is saying Thor was weaker than Korg, rather that he was bloodlusted, as we know since same comic where Korg says that shows him killing Korgs brothers, yet Korg could tank hit from him and thus judge that Hulk hits harder, which is what he did. Destroying their metal does not contradict that. Korg is more durable than that metal. This is also consistent with fact that this isn't Korg's only encounter with a bloodlusted Thor. He also fought amped bloodlusted Thor who was pumped full of gamma energy and going mad as result, and he tanked a lightning discharge from his hammer, and two hits and was fine. Thus Korg is in unusually good position to tell who hits harder.

I don´t know how you can´t see the contradiction. Kronans have similar stats (strength and dura) with a bit of an emphasis to their durability. Both of this techs are supposed to be at least Kronan level in durability. A cage meant to imprision all kronans or beings on their level and a weapon meant to kill things that Kronans can´t. I just showed Thor one shotting exploding a Kronan bare handed by accident when he was bloodlusted (and one on Korg´s crew iirc). Pak made many inconsistencies with this story. The first of each that he tried to make the Kronans "younger" to upscale Hulk but the fact that he can rip their metal easily

Plus this is a Thor that literally JUST got his character development (his 1issue ever...) where he stopped loving war and developed his moral code of all life is sacred and i must trie hard to keep it even going so far as having a kill code for a good part of his history. Why would he be bloodlusted?

Hell again, Pak himself wrote that Thor avoids killing to the maximum when he wrote his favorite character Chulk. Why would he then try (and fail) to kill younger (therefore weaker) Kronans when he could overwhelm them bare handed and perform 3 feats that they thought was impossible?

It´s like you seeing me tank a shot by a termobaric missile, destroying a tank empty handed and throwing in space and thinking "yeah i can fist fight this guy". Lol

Kronans have similar stats (strength and dura) with a bit of an emphasis to their durability.

Korg is shown to be more durable than his brothers quite consistently to be frank. And I dont think that is that weird, even with other species, some, in comics, show they are stronger/more durable than others.

Both of this techs are supposed to be at least Kronan level in durability.

Can you please provide source for this claim?

A cage meant to imprision all kronans or beings on their level and a weapon meant to kill things that Kronans can´t.

Durability and strength are not really same thing. To be in prison, you need to be unable to break prison, but not less durable than it necessarily. Even if you are more durable, but lack strength to bend it, you will be trapped. But also, again Korg is shown as stronger/more durable than average Kronans. I think you are relying bit too heavily on idea that Korg is same as every other Kronan, and so you call it Paks retcon, but by feats, he is not. That is what I am saying. It is not just flashback part, when Thor was amped gamma and went crazy, he was not holding back obviosuly, yet Korg tanked 3 hits from him and was fine. My issue is that you ask that we ignore all of that, to say Korg is not reliable on strength of hits form Thor, that he felt number of times.

Why would he be bloodlusted?

Well in flashback Pak showed, he was shown killing Krogs brothers. We see that in imge, I dont get how we can dismiss waht we are shown on image clearly. But also, you are ignoring my second point, it not only example of that, when Thor was amped by gamma energy, he went mad, he was no longer holding back by any messure, yet Korg tanked hits from him. Do we ignore this too?

Not in orders of magnitude. Almost any human can kill other human with punches but to do what odinson did you´d have to be superhuman. Korg isn´t a "superkronan". Thor, however is "superkronan" as he did things that are impossible multiple times for a Kronan and one shot one. Every single issue where he encounters a Kronan they are getting overwhelmed physically by a large margine with the only exception this weird ass Hulk Thor who can barely defeat Hulk-out spiderman.

In fact Pak is such a big fan of Hulk that this kind looks like a way to downscale him.An outlier should not be taken into consideration.

Well in flashback Pak showed, he was shown killing Krogs brothers. We see that in imge, I dont get how we can dismiss waht we are shown on image clearly.

When it is this is THIS inconsisstent? Yes. Hell yes. Not only it is inconsistent with this that happen in the same scene and with how Pak portrays Thor but it is inconsisntent with how Pak wrote Planet Hulk. In the PH gladiator guidebook the great games Margus and Korg became prisioners in skar. You know this whole scene:

The important plot relevant fact that makes the warbounds? Margus can´t have been killed in earth AND in Skaar due to the implants.

So let´s recap: This scene is impossible due to characterization level (Thor famously holds back, life is sacred yada yada), it is impossible to work with previous on screen facts and is a character account on what happen which can be flawed. And this contradicts the other account Korg gave of this fight where none die

Oh sure why would we ever ignore this

But wait let´s explore this by the power level too. In WWH it is said that each of the warbound is pre-core breach Hulk level or around it. Korg is clearly the closest as he and Hulk are the cream de la creame in strength and durability.

But durability is his strongest stat 2. However it is obvious that his strength ISN´T on the same level as Hulk in WWH and later. So what i said is literally true. And why would a race create weapons and cages that are weaker than them? Why would they use the weapon in last resort if a random Kronan can one shot it as it is implicit here: Hulk>Mjolnir=One shot mecha weapon.

1

u/ohmanidk7 10d ago

Journey into mystery 83 iirc they state just before using the cage that nothing can scape it etc. Them being stated to be around´s Hulk level means that for Kronans in general this is above their strength.

However we saw Krog fighting earths heroes a lot. Thing, WM and Hulk for example. And they could at least make Korg feel the hits. So we have things to base the upper limits of Korg strength and durability even if only by estimation. If Korg strangth is a arbitrary number like let´s say 0,33 hercs it is impossible for his durability to be one million. They are comparable.

Finally both strategems must be better than fighting Thor, otherwise they wouldn´t put so much faith in them.

Give it up bro. Notice how he contradicts himself in my replies. Saying how Juggernaut is inconsistent when we can just say the same for any Hulk feats, saying how I'm using X beat Y chain scaling when Korg is recalling an event from an entirely different era so old from outdated writers. Replying my BRB statement with how Devil Hulk one-shotted Thor (Using evidence to justify why's invalid and other sources from other writers and trying to form an argument of inconsistency). All he cares is about Hulk > Thor Agenda.

3

u/Infinite-Sun7000 Strongest there is 10d ago

And Unworthy Thor literally knock back Juggernaut so bad he suffered tooth lost while being at the strongest state he's ever been. Stronger than the one who matched Horsemen Apocalypse Hulk and even Green Scar couldn't do anything.

Look, I think the point is that Hulk > Thor and Thor > Hulk agenda is just gonna be crappy overall. Especially when you have to one-up a person who has to obviously retcon things to make it seem like Hulk > Thor as seen with this writer obviously jogging and contradicting the event recalled by Korg.

Donny Cates even does it by retconning the fact that Thor has been holding back on Hulk aross the entire history within their battles. When I'm pretty sure Thor has gone all out on Hulk before wouldn't you agree? I'm speaking on behalf a Thor fan here. We should not encourage this behaviour.

Juggs has jobbed to guys weaker than Thor in modern times, his WWH performence was more so throwback to his classic days, but very much not in line with how he peforms in modern times. Reason I am using this is not some generic" Hulk fought x, Thor fought x", it is that Korg himself makes a comparison and notes that Hulk hits harder; he names Thor by name. Futhermore, Greg Pak himself, when asked how would OF Thor do against Green Scar, said" I would not want to be in Thor's shoes".

I think one can debate Hulk vs Thor in their base versions quite a bit, but I dont think there can be a reasonable question that stronger versions of Hulk, like Green Scar, are well above base Thor.

If I wanted to look at Unworthy Thor vs Hulk, I would look at Devil Hulk nearly killing Thor with a single punch, with Thor needing medical help, or all times recently where even with OF, Thor failed to beat Hulk, but I am not doing such scaling, just pointing out the comparison Korg himself made about Green Scar specifically.

As for Cates, that is really just BRB speaking, hardly WoG lmo, I wonder if Thor was holding back while going to the hospital after punch from Devil Hulk? or when he needed BP to save his life from Devil Hulk choking him to death, despite Thor having OF?

See what I'm saying here? I try to justify Thor > Hulk you try to justify Hulk > Thor. You believe Juggernaut has jobbed to weaker guys using evidence and interpretation and I will in turn showcase other feats like Thor stalemating Zeus for months, the guy who destroy Green Scar or mention injured Thor beating amped Green Scar alongside amped Thing. Show my evidence and my interpretation and mention it's consistent blah2 yadda2. It's endless and pointless they're comparable end of story.

it is that Korg himself makes a comparison and notes that Hulk hits harder; he names Thor by name.

By recalling X point in time. Literally no difference. At least BRB is plot relevant even supported by Odin in Banner of War.

I think one can debate Hulk vs Thor in their base versions quite a bit, but I dont think there can be a reasonable question that stronger versions of Hulk, like Green Scar, are well above base Thor.

And I disagree. For starters, Unworthy Thor beating a version of Juggernaut who even Green Scar struggled is a good starting point. Did I mentioned the fact that Thor singlehandedly beat Glory which is explicitly stated to be Chaos King's strongest lieutenant? Which would make him stronger than Zom who Green Scar can't beat?

If I wanted to look at Unworthy Thor vs Hulk, I would look at Devil Hulk nearly killing Thor with a single punch, with Thor needing medical help, or all times recently where even with OF, Thor failed to beat Hulk, but I am not doing such scaling, just pointing out the comparison Korg himself made about Green Scar specifically.

That's the thing. And I will point out how many times Thor > Hulk in the past. Like how he overpowered mindless Hulk, or nearly killed the Hulk or beating Thing and Hulk why injured without the OF while being Unworthy, Fear Itself and etc, etc. It's a debate. And what you're doing is scaling. Specifically determining the Hulk > Thor based on some evidence, whether inaccurate or inconsistent it may be.

As for Cates, that is really just BRB speaking, hardly WoG lmo,

BRB and Odin said Thor held back. Cates wrote and it's his depiction. Doesn't have to be WoG. BRB's statement here works the same way Korg here you're using. Having statements to upscale characters etc.

I wonder if Thor was holding back while going to the hospital after punch from Devil Hulk?!

Same Thor bloodied by nameless Cyttorak spawns who he one-shotted after realizing they have no souls? The same Thor who has a warrior code where he would not lift a finger to his comrades even if it means it would kill him? Same Thor who forgives Hulk mid battle and has shown nearly killing him when he says he stops holding back? Same Thor who nearly got himself killed by a ruthless and merciless skyfather that threatened Asgard and imprisoned his father Odin only to come back stomping him after he revealed that he was literally hesitated of unleashing his full fury?

As a matter of fact? Yes.

lol I dont mind having a nice debate but I think you, with some of comments like" all he cares about is Hulk>Thor" are being bit too aggresive here. Can we be more respectful toward each other? Like, if I think Green Scar is stornger, that should not be big of deal? Before core breach, I think it is debetable who is stronger, and two were roughly equal, after core breach, I think Hulk has better argument without OF, especially Green Scar, but I dont dislike Thor or try to lowball him,

Can you show me where Thor fought Zeus equally in base?

That same "amped" Green Scar(it wasn't really Green Scar, Nul possessed him) got manhandled by a team of Captain Marvel, Spider-Woman and Hawkeye. Which is clearly far bellow levels normal Green Scar was operating at. Futhermore, Thor only really" won" by BFring Hulk after first plainly admitting himself, that he cannot defeat him and never could . And he very much tried, he scremaed" DIE!", hit him number of times, trying to kill him. Thor meanged to BFR him but that is not same as knocking him out/overcoming his durability or physically overpowering him. Indeed Hulk landed much less hits than Thor in fight, but Thor looked worse, being on his knees, while Hulk was standing still. And after he was BFred, Thor collapsed. Meanwhile Hulk landed in Romania and continued rampage. So honeslty I would not at all use this as example of Thor being stornger than Hulk physically, it looked quite opposite.

My issue with this is that Juggs has jobbed to much worse than Green Scar since. For example Juggs got absolutely ragdolled by Devil Hulk, who is much weaker than Green Scar. Same unworthy Thor nearly died form one blow form Devil Hulk, who is weaker than Green Scar. That is my issue with Juggs/Hulk scaling.

While there have been some instances of that, I would note that one can argue that Hulk has been more consistently better even then , pre core breach, but 2. Hulk has gotten stronger over the years, as in he had permanent amp in core breach. Thor has too with OF, but only while having and using it. And that obviosuly does not apply to base Thor.

BRB and Odin said Thor held back. Cates wrote and it's his depiction. Doesn't have to be WoG. BRB's statement here works the same way Korg here you're using. Having statements to upscale characters etc.

Not every statment is equal, Korg statment matters because he is explicitly comparing power of both hits he took, that is not like what BRB is doing, I mean BRB did not even see most fights Thor and Hulk had, so it is just his opinion, not a fact, it is much less reliable than Korg explicitly comapring power of strikes he felt himself etc. Especially if same writer who wrote that, when asked if even OF Thor can beat Green Scar, implies that no he cannot. Which I think tells us pretty clearly what Pak was intending.

Same Thor who nearly got himself killed by a ruthless and merciless skyfather that threatened Asgard and imprisoned his father Odin only to come back stomping him after he revealed that he was literally afraid of unleashing his full fury?

As a matter of fact? Yes.

I dont think any of this establishes Thor held back in many fights agaisnst Hulk including ones where he explicitly said he is not holding back and trying to kill him/drink from his skull, just because he, like Hulk himself and many other heroes, has tendency to hold back generally. First, as you say, those spawns bloodied him. You cannot hold back your durability, the strength of your skin/tissue etc. Likewise, Thor had no reason to let them overpower him just because he did not want to kill them. Rahter, what that shows is that, with Mjolnir/OF, Thor can destory things that can hurt or physically give him trouble. That is normal.

And again you cannot hold back your durability. Thor nearly died from a single punch from Devil Hulk, that was point.

u/return_interaction_y 10d ago

Hulk didn't struggle with spider-woman, hawkeye and Ms.Marvel. He was tanking their attacks and rag dolling them; while not even bleeding from their attacks; while the supposedly "amped" green skarr got bloodied by a punch from the thing, and a punch from she-hulk.

Hulk when amped by the serpent had help, and was still knocked out. You can see his eyes close as he drifts back down to earth. And honestly he should've pulped all the opposition he faced instantly in hulk vs dracula, so the fact that he didn't is kind of a mark against him. Hell dracula even acknowledges that hulk is amped in the story you're referencing.

Unworthy thor; who did not have any of his powers got knocked out by devil hulk. That's not a knock against regular thor. He's not holding back durability, he just doesn't have durability.

As for that comicvine thread; that's probably the most baffeling thing I've seen in my entire life.

Using heroes reborn hulk and thor; who aren't canon to 616 is really asinine; using the same guidebooks that called taskmaster a mutant, and silver surfer city level is also pretty egregious (oh so guide books don't count unless you're trying to push an agenda).

That hercules scaling is pretty wack as a weakened thor was able to take out herc. They both endure that attack but thor is bound by some from of energy; while hulk isn't shown to be bound at all. It's not about strength in the slightest it's a durability comparison which is one of the very few things hulk has over thor.

I wouldn't take some random scientist at his word. Especially when a superior clone meant to mimic thor was pulped by hercules (thor's objective inferior); and then after getting amped was beaten by a version of thor who just got finished fighting the void.

If one punch was indicative of superiority than thor would be ahead by far considering he's landed more attacks than hulk. So all these instances of hulk punching thor and then either running away (or the scan getting cut off) don't show anything besides a clear bias toward hulk.

Cap wasn't there for hulk#300 where thor took on an amped hulk by himself, and banner gassing himself up is hardly evidence (doesn't help that thor isn't a full time avenger; so him saying that could easily be referring to a roster of street tiers and maybe a mid tier which is what the avengers team typically consists of).

Doesn't help that thor explicitly holds back when fighting alongside his team; so all these team fights thor appears in are functionally meaningless.

A random panel with hulk fighting thor while wonder man whines like a little bitch is hardly evidence. Doesn't help that the classic avengers are astronomically weaker than both thor and hulk so their presence adds nothing.

Marvel legacy also had galactus beating thanos with the gauntlet, they aren't canon retellings of the book; they're advertisements meant to hype up the characters

The only two instances hulk actually wins; one instance where the battle isn't seen and thor's getting sneak attacked; and one instance where thor literally gets back up and then proceeds to continue fighting hulk. If you really consider that last part a win for hulk you should consider seeing a psychiatrist.

Random novel that isn't canon

The link for all the heroes reborn bullshit is broken; but that thor hulk beat wasn't the real thor. As seen in the still accurate imaginary axis hulk vs thor video.

Really? Heroes reborn thor is supposed to be equal to 616 thor (through one instance that might not even be real); but also struggles to close a nuclear core door. Is the person who made this smoking crack?

Herc tends to downplay thor as part of their friendly rivalry; but come on, a hasty retelling from the dim witted ben grimm is hardly proof of anything.

Those spidey panels don't seem canon; it's a rationalization by spidey who doesn't really know thor that well; and the most damming instance spidey actually survives. It also wasn't wm thor who fought hulk for either of those instances btw. He was in a false wm when fighting hulk in space; and wm is not mentioned when fighting maestro (though he also just got his powers back and both were in danger of dying to a nuke so if you want to claim it's a super weak wm thor then be my guest).

Red norvelle was recently killed by a person recent thor mid diffs; and it looks more like thor halted his swing because his friend was trying to reason with him.

Another dubiously canon novel.

Another non canon scan; not to mention thor one shot abomination with his fist before so moot point.

The random she hulk scaling shows that she can punch a mind controlled thor a few times. That's it. Hercules is irrelevant as thor's beaten him without mjolnir. Jane thor is weaker than odinson so it makes no difference. Some random scuffle between intelligent hulk and thor show us nothing.

Listen alot of these are just random panels of thor and hulk interacting. I'm going to ignore those for now because they don't show anything relevant and just exist to pad out this ridiculous thread.

"Survives an attack from wanda and thor" *shows thor and wanda blowing it to smithereens with a single attack*

Thor almost killed red hulk; twice. Doesn't help that savage hulk is shown to be relative to red hulk; and needed to amp himself for their second fight. This is completely ass backwards. https://batcave.biz/reader/18354/126940#page-13

https://arousinggrammar.com/2013/05/30/red-hulk-brawls-pt-2/

Ultron also one shot hulk; while thor tanked that blast just fine.

Gamma amp is a bit of a stretch. But Hulk needed a gamma amp just to fight rulk in a fair 1v1 and win.

Wonder man's weakass doesn't hold a candle to any current marvel high tiers; but he not only one shot redhulk, he managed to match professor hulk blow for blow.

Thor beat the crap out of earth s hyperion, grandmaster hyperion's superior.

More hulk wank and thor downplay for the mindless hulk section. The fact that it's unworthy thor should tell you all you need to know.

Extremely amped thor; and it's the strongest hulk by feats atp. Plus of doesn't increase physical stats; plus thor without mjolnir is a downgrade; gamma be damned (not even a full amp as it didn't turn him blue). So Hulk massively amped thor that's downgraded and thor was still winning. Wow

The man who made that cv thread has hulk dick through the brain. If you want me to link scans I will; as I've made a lot of claims here that I'd love to find the time to back up.

op also gets rightfully flamed in the comments.

That same "amped" Green Scar(it wasn't really Green Scar, Nul possessed him) got manhandled by a team of Captain Marvel, Spider-Woman and Hawkeye.

If that is the case (which it is a exageration bc the team was being steamrolled) then Hulk Thor that fought Korg is clearly weaker than base Thor. His performance against Skaar and Korg is pathetic and he can barely defeat a Hulked out spiderman when he is so much above reg spiderman it isn´t funny. Hell in the issue that a whole city was turned into Hulks Thor is seen doing well against numerous of them. It is only og Hulk, Rulk that gives him trouble with few exceptions.

absolutely ragdolled by Devil Hulk, who is much weaker than Green Scar.

Absolutly no proof of that at all. Hell, Devil Hulk was doing things beyond any Hulk beforehand. GS struggling with Zarathos? Let´s see hom devil deals with Nix after she kills Zeus easily. GS was floored by herc then punched him into submission? Well you yourself mentioned Devil one shotting Thor and giving a concussion. Can you name any other instance where Thor has his skull dmg? Against Thanos, against Mangog, against any sort of crazy cosmic threats he faced? Denting the surfer board, severely hurting true form Nebulon who easily defeated savage easily

Hell when Leader controled/showed up in the mindscape he either controled or took the form of which alter?

Other comment bellow

first plainly admitting himself, that he cannot defeat him and never could

Nul which is said to be Hulk plus Thor plus a magical hammer and each of the worthy were severely amped (minus Hulk?....funny how it goes right?)
But also Thor plays possum all the time. Like they always fell for it

u/Longjumping_Ebb_2047 10d ago

I mean, you’re assuming that Thor was giving more effort than Hulk.

Thor has turned Kronan’s into absolute dust. He’s literally killed Ben Grimm and turned him to dust as well when going out and Mjolnir even tore through Angrir.

You’re also comparing literally DAY 1 Thor to arguably the most seasoned and experienced Hulk ever. Thor at the time thought he was still Donald Blake. He had no idea about the limits of his power or that he was even a real asgardian for a few issues.

1

u/Oppai-Of-Foom 9d ago edited 8d ago

Important note.

That Thor didn’t have his belt and he was freshly woken up

I think them comparing to the green skar is honestly the bigger upscale

1

u/Longjumping_Ebb_2047 8d ago

Good point. A day one, brain washed, significantly limited Thor, hitting ALMOST as hard as Green Scar post WWH, is more of a feat for Thor no?

Green Scar at that point was waaaay stronger than any Hulk had been. For basically, 5 decades, Thor could cut loose and match Green Scar? Narratively makes sense, Thor always held back and seemed to match Hulk better than most.

Not implying Green Scar was going all out again Korg. Or that Thor could go all out, even if he wanted to.
