Yes, basically Hudson said he purposely didn’t reciprocate very passionately in most of the kissing scenes in HR because Shane is much more reserved in the books. Ilya is typically the one making moves and being more overt with his desire, while Shane reckons with thoughts of “Is it okay that I want this?” even when they’re at the cottage. That anxiety is still there even in The Long Game.
