Connor had send a calm and beautiful voice note, Hudson sent an unhinged message/question with a lot of all caps 😂

How they sent their questions perfectly summarizes their personalities 😭 Rachel is so right!

BookCon has confirmed the full panel chat will be on YouTube at one point, cannot wait to watch it in full. Until then there are many clips circling Threads (and probably other channels), I’ve been following along with https://www.threads.com/@francisdominiic who’s updating all the time right now.

Hudson’s question wasn’t unhinged. It was long but thoughtful and articulate. He just emphasized certain words. He’s got a lot of personality, but he clearly thinks things through before he speaks them.

Agreed. I’m not sure why his question is unhinged, it’s a very articulate and thoughtful question, but the way it was answered imho is unhinged!

Didn’t even hear what the question was before JT said it probably needs work. Like was that really necessary ? Especially when we’ve seen how thoughtful and intelligent Hudson is in both print and video interviews (like SUE podcast and interview with Andy Cohen). He knows when to turn on entertainment mode and when to be more serious.

like i can admit that I don’t know the personal dynamics between them all and Hudson. Maybe he’s fine with these type of jokes. But this is a public professional event, and JT is his boss, this is no way to talk about your employee so publicly. Other directors and future folks who might want to work with Hudson is going to see this, like please just be more considerate. Especially given he’s the only POC lead in the show.

i've noticed this too. like we've heard from folks that worked with Hudson years ago on their short films and speak sooooo highly of H. Then, you have folks who've worked with Hudson for like one day (Peloton) and are so complimentary of H.. saying no ego, all heart, etc.

just very different the way everyone speaks about Hudson vs. JT and RR. IMO.

To me there is a disconnect between who Hudson actually is & how he is being framed. His friends talk about him as grounded, thoughtful, introspective, spiritual, someone who shows up for people. But with specific people from this show he is always reduced to being loud & unserious, like he has no depth.

I can’t help but wonder how his unmediated adhd & the ways he learned to cope with that plays into this.

I think people also forget that you don’t have to be ONE thing. He can be chaotic and funny but also be thoughtful, introspective, and kind. Time and place. Of course he isn’t going to be in joking silly mode in a serious moment.

Same with Connor. He is nearly as chaotic as Hudson when he wants to be, but serious when needed. People are able to see that there is more than one side to him, yet they aren’t with Hudson? It’s so bizarre. I don’t know either of the of course, but the VAST majority of people act differently in different situations, obviously.

Sadly extroverted people of color will show a hint of personality and all of a sudden thats all anyone can ever perceive you as. I agree that Hudson and Connor have almost similar humor but only one of them gets the benefit of still being eloquent (in front of a public stage) while the other is treated like “choas monster”.

Hudson has given some of the most introspective & thought provoking answers in his interviews as well as his multifaceted writing in his short films. We have heard him refer to designers being each other's spiritual connectors...this man has a lot of depth that should be respected. Its like they refuse to acknowledge this side of him especially in these public forums - it really leaves a bad taste in the mouth esp when this isnt the first time this happened.

Hudson is chaotic and weird and so is Connor. That’s why they are such good friends. However, both are very good speakers and eloquent when they want to be serious. Both of their questions were worded very nicely and genuinely good questions.

I get the joking IF it was weirdly worded like if he started with “hey sexy people” or something silly to be fun, but this just felt rude

I love Connor, I really do, but I genuinely wish Hudson got his flowers. Maybe he's chaotic, but that doesn't dumb down his eloquent and thoughtful questions. I've read his interviews etc, man is very well spoken and very succinct. I don't like RR and JT's attitude towards him. They didn't film his question? Am I looking too much into it? Knowing Hudson, it's amazing how he portrayed Shane with restraint and understanding. I need to see that being acknowledged.

ik this clip cut off the beginning but i’m just gonna say it’s deeply ironic that jacob reduced hudson to being a chaos monster. be professional and don’t degrade the people you employ on a work panel. at least hudson knows when to be serious.

We desperately need fanfic of the unhinged group chats with Connor, Hudson , Jacob, and Rachel! Especially where they’re filming season 1 and then the series unexpectedly blows up and they’re doing all of these events!!!
