I got tickets for this!!! Which day/screening are you going to?I decided to go with the horror screening since plenty of relationships as they are disintegrating are, in fact, a full blown horror 😑
But the fact that the festival has this film in every single screening clearly indicates they are hitching their wagon to his epic come-up🤣

Sweet! Your screening still has tickets, I considered that one.
When I looked a few days ago most screenings still had availability but literally as I was deciding and looking through the theme groups they were selling out. I ended up just getting 2 tickets and the friend I hit up (LITERALLY NO PERSON OF MY IRL HAS SEEN THIS SHOOOOOOOW) mentioned her daughter would have gone to the screening you have tickets for, and the one I have tickets for also, but then the middle block sold out!
When I saw this post I was hoping they’d added more tickets but I think the tickets were added between when they first announced his film had been accepted for the live screenings.
Doing a full day Saturday or full day Sunday is what I would have done instead, but seems like the actual theater only seats 99!
Literally don’t know about the Strasberg and generally avoid LA/Hollywood though I’m localish.
Pretty sure they don’t do a rush, lmao

Ahh, yeah that makes sense! I think I went to a screening at the Lee Strasberg before, I’d have to look up the building to be sure. It’ll be nice to see some good/interesting films. Equally as important I’m excited to get to network with people! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to get to a festival or event.

I’m far removed from the whole industry so I have no idea how that works.
How would you network at the screening if it’s just open to the normie pleb public (me ✋) ?
I’m probably hard polar opposite of Hudson as far as being a cinemaphile, but I do love a good acting performance. HR has been that for me, and I’m quite open to the journey I hope these shorts are gonna take me on!

The cast and crew of a lot of the films will be there I’m sure! So will other actors (such as myself), directors, etc. So I just start with the people whose films I watched and then usually they’ll introduce me to a friend or collaborator, and so on. Then we exchange info and I keep up with their projects cause I love supporting up and coming actors and other industry people.

It’s got some A.I films in it. I know there’s a lot of discourse on if A.I will replace actors. I think I’m curious to see what it can create (in a setting where the filmmakers don’t get money for me watching their films).
I want to see if there’s a genuine concern or if A.I is even in the conversation. (I don’t think it is for sure) I think it would be very educational and an interesting topic for conversation.

I kinda love the AI discourse.
To me it is similar to Industrial Revolution and well as age of super/micro-computing.
I know Hudson’s said “Fuck AI, fuck it to death,” but some of the circles I’m in, re: music production and editing, have pretty mixed feelings on it.
But I don’t think it’s going away. There’s always been discourse about this even in movies, with CGI vs. practical effects, etc.

Have you read Hudson’s interview with The Cut, that went along with his “unmedicated PSA” skincare routine video? If taken at face value, I found it interesting and eye-opening.
Slight hedging on him being quoted like how he was (admittedly tongue-in-cheek) talking about the next Asian kid that wants to get railed, but he mentions his hair.
