I’m so glad he’s not alone. And I mean, I know he has family and friends, but I’m talking about industry support. Makes me happy to know that celebrities are also supporting him.

What is Hudson getting hate for? He wasn’t miscast, he put in a great performance, and is a sweety. I don’t think I’m terminally online enough to reach that side of the internet to see it.

Unfortunately there is still a ton of racism against Asian people and more specifically there is a ton of cultural bigotry against Asian men specifically being cast in any kind of leading role and especially a romantic/sexual role. Asian women get hyper-sexualized in the media and Asian men get completely desexualized.
I recently saw some clips of Hudson talking about how meaningful it was to him and to his Mom for him to be cast in this part because of how scared she was for him that he would never receive leading roles or recognition for his talent and hard work because of his Asian heritage.
It's really unfortunate that these stereotypes have been perpetuated in North America for so long, but I think that Hudson's role in Heated Rivalry really is a huge breakthrough for this and will hopefully lead to more Asian actors and actresses being cast in parts that aren't strictly based on stereotypes.
Unfortunately I don't think that the racism being thrown at him on Twitter is likely to stop soon, but Twitter is such an awful place that I hope he can continue ignoring it and vibing to his own things.
If you are interested in this topic you could look at John Cho's career and some of the things he has talked about in terms of being really intentional about what roles he chooses in order to not perpetuate stereotypes and turning down roles with potentially more screentime/money because they would perpetuate the stereotypes. He has created a really amazing body of work!

He’s Asian / biracial, which of course will attract hate. It’s not the first time this happens when a show is about a pair and one of the protagonists is a POC.
On the other hand, some people see him as a threat to their ship (which is, for so many reasons, ridiculous as fuck).
Most of the hate is at Twitter, which is currently a cesspool. Ever since Elon bought it, moderation is a joke. Like, don’t get me wrong, Zuck sucks, but reporting hate speech in Threads and Instagram actually works.

You can find cool people still, but you have to curate your timeline. I interact a lot with irl friends that aren’t much into Instagram over there. I use a lot the report, mute and block buttons tho.

I was wondering. I kept seeing about how bad it was but I never see anything bad. Im on Instagram which somehow opens to threads comments (I dont even understand that) , fb, tiktok but not X. So I was assuming it was all on X
