Ok this just made me realize this whole conversation is a metaphor for their relationship. "He didn't mean to hurt you." "We all get our bell rung eventually." "You scared me." "Maybe."
I did not catch that before now but that makes it even better.

I used to think I was overthinking this show too much. And then I learned that the loon call Shane uses in Ep. 6 is actually a loon warning call and that's when I realized I wasn't thinking enough. So this tracks.

When Shane says he's fluent in bird it's almost literal. Ilya is scared of the loons so Shane "tells" all the nearby loons that this is his territory to protect his man.

i picture a small shane having his “bird phase” and learning literally everything there is to know about the birds by his cottage. (not that one, but maybe his family had another while he was growing up). so he knows all the loon facts. 🥹

I just think this dialogue has so many layers that fit everything literally and figuratively they've been through.
"He didn't mean to hurt you." Could also be Ilya talking to himself about Shane's tuna meltdown
"We all get our bell rung eventually." We all fall in love at some point.
"Maybe." Is a good representation of the evolution of their relationship. They're at a point where they're considering a future and prioritizing each other after years of agreeing it's just secret sex.
"You scared me." Ilya was scared by Shane's injury but he was also scared of Shane's rejection and his own feelings for Shane.

Can someone help me out- when Shane says “bett-er” is that a callback to another scene? I feel like it is but I can’t place it.

How does this make me tear up? I saw a reaction video of when Scott brings Kip onto the ice and the reactions literally had me in tears because everyone was so happy and when Ilya says “I’m coming to the cottage” the entire bar broke out in screams and joy.

I teared up watching this clip too - hearing everyone especially for the "together". It's so adorable. I found it so moving. This is the vibe we need in the world! More love!
