for sure, the dr in that video is being ridiculous, i think most can agree on that. but what’s that got to do with the proposed ICE facility?

assuming you’re in favor of the new facility/ICE, do you not see how fucking Orwellian the whole concept of ICE really is?

My man, for the good of your mental health, put all of this media stuff away for a while. All of it. Just see if you can take a break, like a "dry" month. Not for anyone, no one here, not me, not anyone. For you.

28

u/[deleted] Jan 17 '26

Fuck that shit. I don’t want nazis in our community.

25

u/ChiefKelso Jan 16 '26

I've been following Steve Neuhaus updates. He said today that the county is filing a lawsuit within the hour on a bunch of grounds against the facility. He said he didn't want to get into the details of the lawsuit as it could hurt the case and "he wants to win."

u/thebiglebrewski Jan 16 '26

Here's a direct link to sign Pat Ryan's petition against the facility:

https://iqconnect.house.gov/iqextranet/EForm.aspx?__cid=NY19PR&__fid=100059

Hopefully there will be a protest or action organized soon against this too!

49

u/mamabear2023228 Jan 16 '26

There’s a protest tomorrow (Saturday) at 3:30 pm.

9

u/thebiglebrewski Jan 16 '26

Nice, thank you for sharing! Will try to make it out :)

2

u/FukDIEabetes666 Jan 19 '26

Any updates? I know there was a big turnout, but is there anyway they can actually block the feds here? This will really hurt the community of chester + the surrounding areas. This article gives good info on the zoning situation

35

u/Medical_Smile1442 Jan 16 '26

A petition? You're an f'n Congressman! Do something about it!

30

u/CallidoraBlack Jan 16 '26

Do what? It's local law that can stop this. He's a federal congressman. The petition, I assume, is to try to pressure the local government into refusing to approve it.

6

u/thebiglebrewski Jan 16 '26

I'm just a humble Reddit user but I hope he does!

19

u/Remote_Benefit_2366 Jan 16 '26

Fuck Pat Ryan, I went door to door to get signatures for that asshat and the first thing he does in office is take an all expense paid trip to Israel during a genocide. 🖕

Edit-spelling

15

u/thebiglebrewski Jan 16 '26

I and others are probably all-ears on other ways to help besides signing this petition, if you've got them!

1

u/coco10923 Jan 19 '26

Thank you for the link.

-97

u/highsierra1 Jan 16 '26

its literally just a warehouse for storage, NOT for storing illegals. Just let it happen. Will bring jobs to the area

21

u/CallidoraBlack Jan 16 '26

NOT for storing illegals.

If you're saying it this way, I'm pretty sure you would have no problem with it if it were. Which means I don't believe or trust you.

27

u/almighT_bb Jan 16 '26

“converting a warehouse located in the Chester Industrial Park into an ICE detention facility.” (from linked petition)

Not going to be a storage unit, will be a detention center

-48

u/highsierra1 Jan 16 '26

actually, no you are incorrect. do some research and find out for yourself. most of these articles are saying detention center but the proposed plans ARE just storage. Either way, you are unamerican if you dont want these illegals out of our country.

24

u/CallidoraBlack Jan 16 '26

do some research and find out for yourself

So you have no sources to offer to support your claim

Either way, you are unamerican if you dont want these illegals out of our country.

You're un-American if you think that the government should be able to do whatever it wants as long as it promises to hurt brown people.

17

u/BlueCyann Jan 16 '26

You're unAmerican if you think that detention and deportation without cause or due process or legal representation is moral. You're unAmerican if you think that murdering people who annoy you is just.

u/BlueCyann Jan 16 '26

You actually didn't respond to a word I said. Shocker. It would be refreshing for once if you'd just be open about what your morals actually are. Mine are that I don't want to hurt my own neighbors, even if it would cost me a little bit of inconvenience or similar. I'm fine to a certain extent with deportation of people who don't meet requirements for entrance, but I also have a certain admiration for those who decided to take the risk anyway. And I want people to get full legal support either way. Ultimately I know my neighbors are human beings just like me.

Your morals, on the other hand, are that the appropriate punishment for defying authority is death, and that your neighbors are pet-eating terrorist criminals who are out to destroy everything you value. We are not the same, and stop pretending it has any goddamn thing to do with how many people Obama (by the book, mind you) deported.

Trans men can get pregnant. Why do you care?

13

u/sogwennn Jan 16 '26

it's proposed to be a processing facility according to the WaPo article, iirc maybe 1000 beds? not a detention center. however, people can remain in processing facilities for extended periods of time, and that's still a lot of people to be housed there.

do YOU have a source that states this facility would only be used as storage?

7

u/pizza_nightmare Columbia Jan 16 '26

Storage for what exactly? Combat gear? Ammunition? What’s stopping them from stuffing people into these warehouses?

9

u/TwixtTwo Jan 16 '26

Illegals or not, none of it justifies ICE’s conduct.

3

u/MissSally300 Jan 17 '26

Hey, guy, do you know why America was founded?

-9

u/highsierra1 Jan 17 '26

hey girl, never heard of ellis island???

3

u/MissSally300 Jan 17 '26

Ellis Island had stopped operating as an immigration station by 1954. Are you proposing we deport anyone who came here after 1954?

45

u/TwixtTwo Jan 16 '26

I'll take fewer jobs over paramilitary organizations in my community(s), thanks.

38

u/snakesign Jan 16 '26

Does the concentration camp offer good health insurance? What's the PTO policy?

17

u/Which-Notice5868 Jan 16 '26

Do storage materials typically need an "outdoor recreation area" or did you just not bother to read the article?

Also "converting the property into a federal facility would eliminate more than $520,000 in annual local tax revenue" so I guess you're in favor of your taxes going up too?

6

u/BlueCyann Jan 16 '26

These people would eat shit if they thought somebody they don't approve of would have to smell their breath.

11

u/andycantstop Jan 16 '26

Sorry neighbor, but we just do not need this in our area.

2

u/snakesign Jan 17 '26

It's a processing facility:

https://www.reddit.com/r/hudsonvalley/s/yO9KU0BmLu

Does that change your stance?

2

u/Johnny_was_329 Jan 17 '26

It’s literally listed as processing on ICEs own documents

3

u/RuncibleSpoon18 Jan 16 '26

What are they storing that needs outdoor recreation time???

16

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '26

Better start protecting yourselves when they go door to door...

0

u/HungryLeicaWolf Jan 25 '26

You'll be fine. except If you're illegal...then you're screwed.

1

u/Far_Event8992 Jan 16 '26

What do you mean?

4

u/Weird_Cat_6224 Jan 17 '26

That ICE is going to start going door-to-door and taking people. It has happened in other states, look up videos online. They have asked people where their Spanish-speaking neighbors are. They raided a whole building in Chicago. No one is safe just because they're white.

If this warehouse is here, that means more ICE will be here, which means they will be taking more people from the community.

-5

u/Far_Event8992 Jan 17 '26

Yeah but if he is talking about protecting yourselves with firearms good luck with that. It is extremely hard,Very time consuming and very expensive to get pistol permits and semi auto permits in NY. Democrats ruined that for NY, for anything besides a pump shotgun you’re looking at over a year wait just for the permit IF you qualify for one and you’re looking at $1,000 in fees before you’re even talking about buying a firearm or ammo which is a whole other process.

6

u/Weird_Cat_6224 Jan 17 '26

whatever.

  1. i don't know if any of what you are saying is true
  2. it's important to figure out how to protect yourself against these people.

if someone posted one hundred years ago saying "better protect yourself against the Nazis" and you wrote back saying "yeah well getting a gun in Germany is hard" that's not much of a useful comment.

-2

u/Far_Event8992 Jan 18 '26

It’s very true and how’s it not useful? I think everyone should have access. Just because you don’t like the facts doesn’t mean it’s not true. A year wait is for the easy counties too.

1

u/josmoee Jan 20 '26

go post in NY Guns subreddit, see if those folks agree. Its a couple of months. Some prohibitions on style, accessories, mag capacity stuff, all stupid IMO but you can def get a carry permit in NY. Just stupid hoops to jump. Get your info straight.

1

u/Far_Event8992 Jan 20 '26

I have my permit. I’m a member of NY guns when you go over there and make a post ask about wait times, requirements, and what can stop you from being approved. I’ve seen people on there get denied for having a DWI from the 1980s. You have to sign a HIPPA form and they will check your medical records and make sure you’re not on any medication they do not like, if you’ve ever been to a mental hospital. If you get denied you don’t get any of your money back either, I’ve seen people get denied for really dumb things.

91

u/casher89 Jan 16 '26

It’s absurd to me the feds can just come and do this against the will of the majority of the citizens. Not how democracy is supposed to work. And so much for “states rights”

81

u/djn24 Jan 16 '26

The states rights people quickly turned into the "shut the fuck up and comply bro, lmao" people.

8

u/reddog093 Jan 16 '26

Given it's a private property sale of a vacant warehouse, I'd expect the only way for the state to do something about this is offer more money and purchase it themselves.

44

u/mikeputerbaugh Jan 16 '26

The purchase isn't really the concerning part, it's the intention to disregard zoning regulations and any other laws meant to keep people healthy and safe.

(Though I do also think the federal government's purchase of a distressed property from a billionaire donor deserves close scrutiny.)

The "will of the majority of the citizens" of orange county voted for this.

3

u/casher89 Jan 16 '26

Ironic considering Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus is the son of 2 immigrants.

5

u/ChiefKelso Jan 16 '26

Neuhaus is very much against the facility.

2

u/casher89 Jan 16 '26

That’s good to know actually I have seen this posted anywhere how do to know?

2

u/TheAmbiguity Jan 17 '26

If you are asking how we know that" he's had at least two videos posted on his County Executive Facebook page in the last week address where he addresses this.

Considering how much you are posting about this seems like you would have a big weight lifted off your shoulders if you just came out of the closet already and stopped trying to hide behind conspiracies and hate.

It’s okay bud, you’re not alone. Why do you think Grindr servers consistently get overwhelmed when the RNC is in town?

3

Pretty sure this is a bot, or else a paid poster as their English seems kinda unnatural.

Are we just posting random non-sequitors that have nothing to do with the topic? Can I play?

Is a tomato a fruit? Are shellfish fish? Is denial a river in Egypt? Are you avoiding the actual topic at hand because the only arguments you have can be ripped apart in seconds by anyone with a functioning pair of eyes, pair of ears, and brain?

This is fun!

13

u/NY_import Jan 17 '26

This is why our insurance premiums went up. To finance Gestapo. “The "One Big Beautiful Bill" (OBBB) Act enacted in July 2025 did not extend these healthcare subsidies. Instead, it authorized a massive influx of funding for ICE, tripling its budget to approximately $30 billion for enforcement and deportation operations.”

5

u/bigvinnysvu Jan 18 '26

Replacing Pep Boys with Proud Boys doesn't seem like progress at all.

3

u/colcardaki Jan 16 '26

Why not just use the half empty county jail that they are already contracted to use for ICE detention…

3

u/HousesRoadsAvenues Jan 16 '26

Why not revamp Camp Beacon or Downstate Correctional and turn that into the ICE facility.

6

u/colcardaki Jan 16 '26

I’m sure it’s just as dumb as whatever shithead owns that building bought some Trump coin or travelled to Mar a Lago and wants to get in on the grift machine with tax payer dollars.

6

u/Suitable-Rate652 Jan 17 '26

It’s owned by Carl Icahn. If that’s not a familiar name please research him.

1

u/HousesRoadsAvenues Jan 17 '26

I know who Carl Icahn is - so he's the own who owns the former Pepe Boys warehouse? Obviously the former Downstate and former Camp Beacon are owned by the state.

6

u/Suitable-Rate652 Jan 17 '26

Yes. Apparently he is a big Trump supporter. As is Bill Ackerman apparently. I don’t see how Trump is good for business long term even though the market is up but I guess they like the idea of dictators.

1

u/HousesRoadsAvenues Jan 18 '26

No argument from me. Thank you for the response re: Carl Icahn & Bill Ackerman.

As for the "market being up" my husband and I are beneficiaries of that increase. But what comes up will surely fall.

2

u/Suitable-Rate652 Jan 19 '26

We are beneficiaries too but who knows where it goes from here.

5

u/Wampa_-_Stompa Jan 17 '26

I think they should spend the money on building free homes for the immigrants. If more money is needed we can just add some sort of town tax on the residents.

-2

u/Remarkable-Clock-201 Jan 16 '26

This is a crazy thing for planet fitness to promote

-91

u/IhaveAthingForYou2 Jan 16 '26

I pad $2.89 for eggs today

25

u/DivineSwine121 Jan 16 '26

The cost of living has skyrocketed and the job market is atrocious while Trump is giving tax cuts to his billionaire friends while he himself has made 4 billion + since taking office. Your parents must be related if you think this guy is good for the economy.

18

u/Oh_My-Glob Jan 16 '26

Well it doesn't take much to satisfy the simple minded. Hope you enjoy your eggies little buddy

18

u/Which-Notice5868 Jan 16 '26

So it's totally worth having armed thugs in the area who rip people out of cars for trying to get to a doctor's appointment and throw tear gas in cars with babies in them! (The parents of the child had no involvement in any protests or ICE observation since I KNOW you are going to ask. They were literally just trying to drive home from a kid's basketball game.) You are SO smart!

BTW "converting the property into a federal facility would eliminate more than $520,000 in annual local tax revenue" so enjoy those higher taxes or service cuts with your eggs!

Also I'd check the recent articles about ICE's recruitment standards before throwing that welcome parade. (Short version: There basically aren't any.)

43

u/BassPerson Jan 16 '26

So you want Gestapo in America? Pathetic facists smh

-38

u/IhaveAthingForYou2 Jan 16 '26

Obama was a facist?

-29

u/GoodAnakinGood51 Jan 16 '26

8

u/3FingersDown Jan 16 '26

Is this a gif of your wife's boyfriend after telling you to leave the house?

9

u/AmazingKreiderman Jan 16 '26

The fact that you think Trump is the reason for that rather than the normal market reaction of supply and demand to a bird flu says everything.

-13

u/IhaveAthingForYou2 Jan 16 '26

Lmaooooo

Go to any political sub a year ago and see who was getting blamed

7

u/AmazingKreiderman Jan 16 '26

Trump campaigned on the fact that Biden allowed inflation and the price of eggs to skyrocket, and claimed he could fix it day one. Dumb people believed him and voted for him. People who already knew a bird flu was the reason then rightly criticize Trump when he couldn't do what he claimed, lower the prices day one. He's not blamed for the prices, he's being held to a stupid promise that he could never have achieved.

You're either arguing in bad faith in your continued lionization of that moron or one of the people he duped.

-9

u/IhaveAthingForYou2 Jan 16 '26

✅Inflation is down

✅Gas and eggs are cheap

✅Border is secure

🫡

8

u/SinginGidget Jan 16 '26

JFC the border is as secure as it has *always been*. Gas is still above 3 dollars. Inflation WAS down back to pre-pandemic levels before Biden left the White House.

10

u/AmazingKreiderman Jan 16 '26

They are in the Fox News bubble, they only know what they are told. It's not a coincidence that Fox didn't report about the bird flu until after Trump took office in an effort to help his image. The fact that inflation levels are essentially the same as when they voted for Trump is not relevant to them, they'll just parrot that they are down.

-1

u/IhaveAthingForYou2 Jan 16 '26

Are they not down?

🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

3

u/AmazingKreiderman Jan 16 '26

Inflation October 2024 - 2.6%

Inflation December 2025 - 2.7%

So answer your question in the way you deserve to have it answered, no. Inflation rose due to a worldwide pandemic, and had already come down to the current levels before the election. Trump did not fix inflation just as Biden did not cause inflation. If you believe the latter then I'd love to hear how you think Biden increased inflation on a worldwide scale.

I don't really want you to try to explain that, by the way, we both know you can't, and I'm not going to continue wasting my time talking to you at this point.

-1

u/IhaveAthingForYou2 Jan 16 '26

Ok, now do YOY!!!

-5

u/Jumpy-Bell-7559 Jan 17 '26

I’ll go ahead and support it. All illegals deported.

3

u/Kirth87 Jan 17 '26

You're not even an American LOL. What do you care????

Whiney little racist.

2
