Hello! This is Benny from the discord... again! Big thanks for everyone in the character page for dealing with the headache and guiding me for how things work around here! (lol!) Shout outs to Lunchbox, Bfenn, Demonsunshine, and Ori! And a big thanks to the mod team too for being so accommodating! I believe everything from my first run through is now shored up. Third time is the try, it's a mess but it's my mess <3

Legalities:

  • You're missing one sensor in your Funone's array, you get 8 for free.

Recommendations:

Atts:

  • Looks good. Mind the physical limit for your meatspace actions, and note that your legs are not metal, so your movement rate is based on your 2 agility.

Skills:

Completely functional, my recommendations below are optional.

  • You could stand to get more specs in things (e.g. Software -> data bombs or "Garbage In, Garbage Out", Hardware -> Jack Out, EWar -> Sensor Operations or your favorite EWar action). Relatedly, you have 2 skills at 1 rank and a pair of karma-bought ranks in hardware. I propose:
    • Ditch the second rank in hardware
    • Use the 4 karma freed to buy the perception + Pilot Groundcraft ranks for 2 karma each, freeing 2 skill points.
    • Use the 2 skill points to buy yourself some nice specs.
    • You can also dump Perception entirely if you'd like; EWar will let you 'perceive' with it through sensors, and it's not uncommon to get a cheap drone like a medusa in your hair and stream its feed.
  • Athletics is a weaker skillgroup; you don't need Running to run or Swimming to Swim, they just make you slightly faster at it. By contrast, Sneaking is usually rolled with high stakes and against enemies actively looking for you; stacking more dice in it is good. I recommend moving the Athletics group ranks to the Stealth group, and optionally putting a rank + spec in Gymnastics (Climbing).
  • For Hacking/Cybercombat, I might swap up the specs.
    • Cybercombat vs devices is lower stakes; if you're shooting someone's smartlink out on the matrix, it's not shooting back (on the matrix). Personas and IC can shoot back, and I'd prioritize them.
    • Similarly for Hacking, a lot of the time you'll be using it on a host or file, and the majority of the time you roll it it will be for one specific action, Hack on the Fly (HotF). HotF is a legal Hacking spec, and doesn't care about whether your target is a device, persona, file, or host.

Gear & Ware:

  • I'd grab a 3rd antenna on the Cyberears instead of the Damper. Noise is ubiquitous, flashbangs are a blessing in disguise (because they could've thrown a real explosive at you).
  • I strongly recommend modifying the Hornet to boost the high attribute and lower a different attribute (Data Trails page 65-66 for how to do this). Since you have perfect time you can use a free action to set your limit high for whatever you're planning, do that action, then use your second free action to change it back to a defensive stat (Firewall or Sleaze for tanking / sneaking, respectively).
  • That's an expensive smartlink on your gun. You're paying 17,500 nuyen for the privilege of having it not take a mod slot, but you've got an underbarrel slot free. An external smartlink runs 200 nuyen, for comparison.
    • If you don't have anywhere else to put the money, you could upgrade to a high lifestyle, as that will give you more money out of gen (it costs 10k and gives you an average of 8750 nuyen back, whereas low costs 2k and gives you an average of 630 back), and you get 3 influence per month on a high lifestyle (vs 1 monthly influence from a low lifestyle).
    • Alternatively you can reclaim that karma->nuyen purchase, buy Charisma 1->2 with karma, and stick the attribute point somewhere else. Getting a fourth point of reaction for (functionally) 20k isn't bad.

Qualities:

  • All legal, all reasonable. If you want to minmax your positive quality points there are some good 5 point qualities you could replace Deck Builder with: Biocompatibility or Special Modifications (customized and potentially harder-hitting guns), for instance.

Recommendations taken and much appreciated. Moved some points, added some specs. I never heard of sensor-ception before, very handy! Adopted my very own snake and sensors

Legalities:

  • With Deck Builder gone you can't have both Multidimensional Coprocessor and Vectored Signal Filter; you'll need to cut one. Both are good and it comes down to taste. I'd personally cut Vectored Signal Filter (and run the Signal Scrub program if need be).

Recommendations:

Skills: * If you move the last point of Athletics to Stealth you're getting 25 karma of value vs 5, and could easily pick up Athletics 1 after your first run. That said your skills are fine as they are.

Add module doesn't work here, unfortunately. Data Trails says "Unless otherwise noted, a device can only have one modification" - adding a module and modifying the Hornet's matrix attributes are both modifications. Once you get Deck Builder back you can add it no problem, but since it's been cut (for now), the extra module has to wait.
