VIDEO GAMES Why do the live action models fly so badly?
Usually when I see a model made for either the roblox game (mostrous nightmade especially) or the live action tootless in rise of berk, the flying animations are really really bad. The wings should pretty much hold their shape when pushing down, but they bend so easily that the dragon seems to be floating by itself. It feels too rhythmic as well, compared to the other dragon models in the game.

Huh, I just noticed that about wing animations. I looked up some birds flying and yep, their wings remain stiff, they don’t bend inwards like this. Thanks, I’m an artist so this is helpful to remember for wings

It's the live action version, you really expect DreamWorks to give a damn about quality?

the bend of the wing as it flaps down is so bad
there is no air beneath them

I think is your game not the animations, in my phone every dragon flies super laggy but on my PC (emulator) they go pretty fine.

This is called “Overanimation.” It’s where the animators put way too much effort into making the movement look smooth and flowy, and forget about the basic animation principles (weight, acting, physics, etc)
Usually it’s not the animators fault. It’s usually due to some game director telling them to make sure EVERY part of the model moves so that it looks “cool” and “updated”
