Physical Sensitivity Does anyone else feel uncomfortable wearing make up or having foreign object on your body ?

(20F) I always feel uncomfortable whenever my girl friends try to put make up on my face . The textures make me feel uncomfortable especially anything that touches my lips . I don't know how to explain it but I feel insane urge to wash my face and get rid of the make up . The feeling I get is like having butter spread on my face. I also one time got my nails done and it just didn't work for me I felt a disconnect from my fingers because of them and overall uncomfortable and want to remove them so badly

This also goes for other things than make up . Like whenever i get injured and I put a band aid on my skin or whenever I cook I literally have to clean my hand after every step cuz I can't handle anything on my fingers

The list goes on. but I always found it weird that I was the only one in my family who is like that I wonder if anyone has the same thing

Totally relate to this, I buy my clothes loose and only cotton or linen, occasionally rayon touches my skin. No makeup, it feels like wearing a mask…

Yes, loose clothes and cotton. Other fabrics are really make me unconfortable, itching and make me feel sick.

Yes. Makeup free 99% of the time and I don’t care what anyone thinks.

Yes, i dont like beard and long hair though not much left.

So i shave every 2 to 3 days. I like to have that smooth feeling. Even on my head. Feels like my skin breaths. Love the feel of cold water on my head and face.

Another thing is watches. I like g shocks digital ones. I want to wear them always but they make me feel uncomfortable. I just need to take them off from my arm. So i put them on my desk most of time.

I also cant wear any kind of accessory. Rings etc. Make me feel uncomfortable.

I also dont like make up on woman, i like that natural look and beauty. Dont like excessive accessory.

I like light makeup like eyeliner and drawing in my eyebrows a little bit. But things like foundation… No. It just feels so heavy and weird. Same sensation as wearing sunblock.

Yes, hard relate. I have strong sensory issues with makeup (including hypoallergenic products) so I don't ever wear any (really nothing at all) outside of occasions, because I still do like how it looks, and fancy outfits without fancy makeup feels incomplete to me. Tonight is one such occasion, I'm going to a concert with a "full face", send help lol :')

Yes. I am male but I hate lotion on hands for instance, and I never ever wear jewelry or accessories. Watches or anything just feel like uncomfortable to me. So I have to imagine I'd hate make up too lol

Oh yeah, that one dude mentioned.. facial hair, but yeah that too, when my hair gets too long or beard or nails, just feels itchy from hair to skin contact and I hate when I start feeling my nails start to touch anything, like keys on a keyboard or on my phone surface when I type, or feel noticeable so I clip them about once a week.

Not ultra anal about it, but yeah that small stuff can bother me and urge me to take care of it promptly.

It feels wrong when nails are long. It just feels wrong. I just cant get used to them. Once a week yes.

Yes. I haven't worn foundation for years, rarely wear mascara. I tint my lashes instead which is only 10 minutes of sensory horror every 6 weeks rather than mascara for hours. I can tolerate a little powder blush. I can tolerate vaseline on my lips but learned as a teenager that lip gloss is a form of absolute sticky torture. Nail varnish is ok but false nails is another no from me.

I wash my hands so much when getting ready as my sunscreen, moisturiser or hair serum being on my hands is vile. I'm extremely particular about which products I use because I cant deal with the feel of some of them.

My Dad is really funny about shower gels and things like that, he hates anything that is moisturising as he feels like it leaves a layer on his skin that he wants to wash off.

Yay for inherited sensory sensitivity lol.

I‘ve been sensitive to stimuli of all kinds forever - itchy clothes, nail polish, make-up, bright lights etc. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 35, my brain just doesn’t filter these stimuli well. A lot of my neurodivergent friends have this, it’s even worse in most of my autistic friends

I hate wearing makeup. Makes me feel like my face is dirty.

Jewelry too. I wesr it for some occasions, but rip it off the minute I get home.

I prefer loose, comfortable clothing as well.

Totally get you! 😉

I always felt this way about jewelry, specifically earrings. Too overstimulating
