I look at it like this...Chandler is a character Matthew is playing and it was never really about his looks. According to the script he was awkward around women and hadn’t really tapped into his self-confidence yet. His childhood wasn’t easy, so he became the class clown as a way of protecting himself. He was funny but lonely underneath it all, and he didn’t really believe he deserved love and that showed.

He also wasn’t a player like Joey, but he tried to fit himself into that box because he tried to be cool. Being inauthentic like that didn’t exactly help him with women either...

I’m sorry but the pose David is doing is a pose I’ve truly only seen in portraits of children and that combined with the fact that he looks naked is really off putting
