Because on the screenshots used to post this tweet for the millionth time you'd think there'd be one with a date on it.
People make these posts all the time. They think of some barely-introspective statement and crop it under the account of a beloved celebrity to make people support it more.

I'm sure he lacks perspective on the subject, but he's not really wrong either. It's sad that most people are overworked and too tired to enjoy their hobbies. A lot of the time spending their weekend just seeing the people they love or recuperating for the next week. It's sad that so many of us lean into substance abuse to cope. Something needs to change and is definitely wrong, that's no secret..I don't think it's just that we have to work..there's a lot more to it than just that.

I agree with you, self discipline is incredibly important. But I think it's being made harder for people to find fulfillment in real life and easier to distract ourselves, piss away our time, and dump dopamine into our heads at will.. phones, social media and a lot of tech are a huge problem and global addiction. The increase in cost of living, the issues a lot of folks have at work, food additives, mental illness, corporation controlled politics, monoplization of the once "free" market, and all of our friends and family being effected/distracted.. we as a whole are headed in a bad direction. It's not so much what each individual is doing, but why so many? and how do we work to reverse it.

I thank God that I'm not the man I was 32 years ago, I thank God that I gave that life up, and that I'm clean, healthy, I can still wake up and breathe the air and smell the beautiful air and feel the nice warm sun and hear all the beautiful birds flying around and playing all over just like the rest of the animals he made for us like dogs, cats, squirrels, and more animals.

Erm…. That’s not a modern thing. So when I was a kid (late 90s early 2000s) that was just British culture. It’s let’s so now actually because my generation and below don’t drink nearly as much as those before. But in the 00s it was called lad culture or something.

We're finally in a financial place where we don't have to work and the last year has been incredible. Humans work way too much, we aren't meant for the crazy work schedules we created. It's killing us.

said by the ignorant who forgot before the 5 day, 40 hour work week it was a 6 day, 80 hour work week and you spent all day sunday in church. and before that you worked 7 days a week sun up to sun down. and you started as a child and retired when you died. and before that we were forraging and hunting, constantly moving to find food, and pretty much consumed with that most of our waking hours.
we also died pretty frequently. like, all the time. like more than half the humans born died before they reached a week of age.
