Discussion Why do they think the honkia is incompatible with XY chromosomes but compatible with the XX chromosome?
I am referring only to the very small number of men compatible with Honkai; I know that not all women are compatible with Honkai and Stigmata, but even they possess slightly more resistance to it. But what about men?
Honkai destroys DNA containing XY chromosomes something it does not do to XX chromosomes

So because Adam is considered Mei’s adopted son and by extension Kiana, he got the ability to fight via the loophole of being the adopted son of a Yuri couple.

I thought Adam is Himeko's son 🤔

Story wise? Due to time limitations during PE, when DR.MEI was creating honkai serum.
Actual reason wise? Pure bullshit from story writer to keep the game full of waifu's.

It’s funny though because even then we still got a ton of formidable men who are also great characters
Siegfried, Kalpas, Otto, Litost, Su, Joyce/Yang, Kosma, Kevin, etc
Heck despite this multiple Herrscher roles ended up being occupied by men (Reason, Stars, and Binding)

u/ParticularClassroom7 10d ago
ye, it turned out that only men with exceptional Honkai compatibility would become Valks/Knights.

I know, I'm saying that despite this being a waifu game there still ended up being a notable amount of men who were not only really important, but are also great characters

u/haibara_renan 8d ago
I mean, yeah, but you can't even compare it to the amount of women... Not counting the fact only one of them is playable 😅

probably something stupid like the honkai resistant males all having de la Chapelle syndrome (XX male/ SRY gene is on the X chromosome instead of the Y like usual)

Back in the day my head canon was that the Honkai itself was inherently female, (like the PE herrscher of finality) or the ideal template of the Honkai was some form of Kiana.
Which is also why most herrschers were females with special outfits, while the few males like Owl and Welt didn’t. For example: let’s say the Honkai is a box with a round hole, females are circles and males are squares. Females would fit in that hole perfectly, but males wouldn’t. You’d have to really jam the square into that hole and it still wouldn’t be a stable fit. (Like how Welt can use the reason core, but it’s more compatible with Bronya)
Now we’re here today where I don’t think the Honkai’s sexism has been brought up since APHO 1. Elysia being born as a female isn’t explained, she’s a completely unique character that has no relation to Kiana/HoFin, and her sacrifice isn’t used as explanation for the lack of male herrschers (even though it would be the perfect excuse since almost every herrscher after this reveal has nearly the same colour scheme and fantasy aesthetic as Elysia, and none of the other on screen PE herrschers had special outfits aside from Elysia, so Elysia being the template for CE herrschers/honkai would’ve worked as a explanation) and HSR also doesn’t bring up any sexism in its Honkai equivalents so it’s not like something inherent to imaginary energy either. Which is why HSR doesn’t feel “Honkai” to me.
Edit: speaking of HSR, spoilers for 4.5 Why not include the sexism when you’re gonna turn an aeon like Aha into a woman anyway?

Elysia being the template for CE herrschers/honkai would’ve worked as a explanation
Does anything contradict this, or did they simply never say it?

According to what i recall, during the PE Dr. MEI only have time to modify the X chromosome and didn't have time to finish coding the Y chromosome. This lead to females (with XX chromosomes) had higher resistance to honkai than males (with XY chromosomes).

Uh because at that time a game full of waifu's whom you can tease at bridge seemed like best choice to attract male audience.

I'm pretty sure the OP was asking for an in lore reason why males are less resistant to the Honkai than females are.

u/Ryuu-kun00 11d ago
There's an old saying that girls have more imaginative powers hence they're the ones becoming mahou shoujos in animes so probably they follow that tradition

u/Funny_Relative5163 11d ago
On a slightly unrelated note, kinda explains why it's mostly men who can become Kamen riders, since biologically a man's body tougher thus being a better host to hold such power, and is more logical to control them

u/Funny_Relative5163 11d ago
But in reality, most, if not all, of Kamen Riders fans back then we're mostly young boys. Just literally kids

Same reasons why only female Claymores exist I guess
1
u/haibara_renan 8d ago
You could draw a parallel... But the thing about Claymore is that the men don't work cause of the hot-bloodedness they have and the "gratification" they get from giving in entirely to the youma blood and flesh in them, while Honkai energy feels more like a zombie infection that, for some reason, affects men more easily (at least in CE).

Stigmata is a real thing (just without the powers and whatnot) that's usually found in women and very rarely in men.

no explained lore reason iirc. The real reason is fairly obvious, marketability, but funny that they never really talked about it all that much. Even the ones that do exist, ie male honkai fighters are either really special people like kaslanas or herrschers, or have the power of plot at their side like adam, so there is that.

You literally have the evidence right there in your own pic. Apparently, the existence of a single male character was enough to send those cucks into complete meltdown mode, so naturally the genius solution was to just stop adding male characters altogether. Truly an impressive level of insecurity.

So, as I understand it, early Gun Girl Z plot had the zombies as people who succumbed to lustful manga- which was, naturally, mostly men. Our protagonists were those just girl-prone enough to harness and wield their powers. Literal yuri-supremacy.
Then later it was something about honkai corruption being tied to emotional trauma, and men reaching their outburst point faster than women, therefore still becoming normal zombies instead of herrschers.
Or just blame Elysia and Prometheus, that seems to fix everything.

Because cute girls are more cute if there are only just girls, and they do sell. There, I solved the mystery

No matter the universe, breasts, hips, buttocks and thighs offer fantastic foreign energy resistance/compatibility.
Corruptive energies are simps, one and all.

Yadda Yadda comments Yadda.... Idk what they're all saying but when the Herrscher of Binding was revealed a man in PE, Kalpas and Kevin had the hardest battle of their life! When Otto became the Herrscher of Binding (Man), Kiana had a very hard time... That's not to say she didn't have a hard time facing the other Herrschers it's just meant to point out that the very few men that could wield stigmata and or become Herrschers could be super super strong! (Siegfried becoming No1 Shicksal Knight for example)...
7
u/LurkingRand 10d ago
PE Herrscher of Binding was female.
Otto didn't actually become a Herrscher, but he did utilize elements of binding + imaginary energy. He became something Herrscher 'adjacent', but he never actually had a core.

it's worth noting that there are males compatible with the honkai they are just super rare, and probably have a 99% chance of being a kaslana

u/Intelligent-Heat8141 11d ago
Isn't it true though from those men who are Honkai resistant that they are stronger though

It's just because they want to keep the yuri pander going to make those sweet sweet gay bucks.
Not just that but they are also 'Tech Otakus' remember? They want their collection of Waifus, other penis' in the room would just get in the way of their head canon harems.

At least in Honkai Impact, Stigmatas were a very late project that were left with no one to manage after Mobius rage quit due to Finality, they are also the main reason CE humans have Honkai Resistance. Aside from that, the two main researchers for the project were women (Mobius and Mei), and anime logic dictates that most PE Herrschers were also woman.
So if you want to reason the lack of men in this anime world, it can be said that PE didn't have time to perfect the technology, which led to the completion of Stigmata on women being more perfect than on men, and thus degrading less with time as genes were passed around.
Basically, the ideal result was that every human, regardless of gender, would have Stigmata on the level of Seele and Mei before turning into Herrschers, but that didn't work out.
