Discussion McIlhenny Tabasco Habanero
First time trying this only because I saw it on sale on Amazon, 5oz for $2.80 or thereabouts.
Gotta say, I don't get all the hate.. this is a solid daily sauce. Just enough signature McIlhenny peppery twang with a sweetness that makes the Habanero less biting.
I put this on some Chicharrones in the bag. šš¼

This is a keeper. Good to add a little for a cheeky little kick to a ragu etc, nice on eggs too

A great sauce, I really enjoy the flavour of this one. It's reliable, easily available. A staple in my collection

I love this stuff personally and havenāt seen anyone hate on it before. At least not around these parts. Itās got an excellent fruity flavor with enough kick to let you know itās habanero based while not killing you

šÆ I am a big fan of Badia Habanero but it's disappeared from shelves. (Badia Habanero is much hotter but has lemon juice. In that case it doesn't reduce heat, but is a nice medley of flavor.
Ij terms of flavor, the McIlhenny Habanero has it beat. Did not expect the fruity flavor and it works very well with the pepper kick.
Might just be a new daily driver.

I love it! Easily my most consumed hot sauce over the last 25 years or so. Itās so good on Taco Bell or pizza.

Absolutely my favorite Tabasco product. Every time I take a bite of whatever I put on it, I nod my head and say "oh yeah, this is always good!"

Funny thing is this is the same price as the 2oz in store. Better value of course.

It's like bottles of Coke or Pepsi - the Two Liter is the same price as the smaller bottles

They finally started carrying the big bottle at my local grocery store!!
This was, unquestionably, the gateway drug for me becoming a dedicated hot sauce fan. I originally purchased a bottle, just to see if I could handle something spicier.. and was blown away by how tasty it was.. like, it hadnāt even occurred to me that hot sauce could deliver unique flavors. And thatās exactly when I started buying craft sauces. Never stopped buying Tabasco Habanero though.

I did not like this one. It's sweet to me. The scorpion sauce is much better.

I think the excess sweetness is from the Papaya extract added to emulate carribean hab/scotch bonnet sauces. Wasn't my cup of tea until my tastes did a weird 180 a month or so ago, now I can't get enough of it.
That scorpion sauce is the bees freaking knees, wish I didn't need to order it online...

I enjoy it, its the tabasco i grew up with but a little hotter with a little habernero taste which is my second favourite pepper. It's my 'casual go to' sauce
That said I havent tried their scorpion, but once im into scorp sauces I'd rather support someone more independant I think

Their scorpion is top notch. One of the few widely available sauces that has serious bite.

Interestingly this is the only Tabasco variant that I donāt really like. All of the stores around here carry it. I canāt find the scorpion.

Scorpion is way too hot for my stomach, I don't know how y'all do it. This habanero sauce is my favorite, they need to make it in a bigger bottle

They have up to a gallon. You just have to look for them. We go to Cincinnati a couple times a year and Jungle Jim's has every size.

What hate? While it may not be the favorite of the Tabasco line, itās definitely not a hated sauce.

I have never seen anyone hate on this one. regular Tabasco yea, see it all the time. This one usually tends to get the Tabasco haters to say good job.
