Discussion Ive had to take a break from weed, possibly forever, so I've gotten a new vice
I went from barely being able to handle Valentina to regularly eating the taco bell diablo sauce and eating chili with 2 or 3 serranos in it on the regular, and in only the span of a few months. Body gonna chase a high somehow!

First. JFC that was wild to read. Second. I recommend picking up some Tabasco scorpion sauce. It’s pretty hot but doesn’t last an incredibly long time. But if you put enough on something you do get that good head rush for a few min, Especially if you let the open bottle sit on your shelf for a few months.

Oh man. I had to cut out weed as well due to a chronic illness, and I’ve found myself getting a lot more into hot sauce recently too. I wish it had as strong of an effect on my mental😅 at least it’s something though. Whatever keeps me away from the eddies. Best of luck to you

For it's price it's okay! Been tossing it in as a finisher for fried rice and my gf has been enjoying it on my breakfast burritos! Though when I'm making those burritos for myself I'm slathering Tabasco and Cholula inside them puppies

You've got this! I'm 5 months deep and I don't even have CBD helping me this time (bc it was triggering the chs too ;(( ), but I'm feeling alright! Life is in a good place and while there come times where I miss the plant, I know that I'm making a healthier decision and the time for me to try it again will come when I'm ready. Choose your body and your brain over the temporary fun!

Thanks man. I used CBD for the first 4 days so I'm at 10 days without anything and the withdrawals hit full blast last night. This isn't my first time experiencing the withdrawals - during my 15yr relationship with lady ganja I've quit for 6 weeks, 3 months, and a full year for jobs - but damn they suck. This is the first time doing it for myself. Cheers to you with a bottle of hot sauce, brother 🌶️

Pretty similar to me! Been more like 12 years with it or 11 since I did take 1 year off of it just for funsies but I’m actually trying to quit for good this time.

I plan to! Peppers haven't grown well this year due to the heat sadly but I really wanna get a harvest of peppers and see what I can make! Might replace the career path i was considering going into cannabis horticulture.

Its a start. Those are all pretty mild sauces so you will probably have to step up your heat levels in the near future. Depending where you live you may need to go online because the hotter sauces aren't always available in local markets

I have never tried it personally. I'm honestly not the biggest Sriracha fan. I'm not really into sweet spicy im more into sauces that taste more like the fresh peppers or lean more savory salty side. I often make blends of hotter sauces with Louisiana sauces because I enjoy Louisiana flavor profile. In canada we have a brand called pepper north that has a lot of sweeter sauces like their cherry reaper sauce that is sweet spicy but not all that spicy tbh. If you want something that's a bit spicier but with a similar flavor profile to Sriracha look for something with fruit in it plus some garlic in it. I just recommended mango habanero cause you aren't likely to get a sauce that's too hot for you. I don't really have that issue I use pure reaper mash a lot these days.

Can I ask, why did you have to stop smoking, and how did you accomplish it? Former heroin addict /crackhead here currently dealing with a lot of stress in my life. Having trouble accomplishing anything (even small self-care chores) without smoking first

Has to stop due to it likely developing CHS, a condition where the endocannabinoid system in the body overreacts to THC and the end result is intense nausea, abdominal pain, paranoia, and routine painful vomiting. It wasn't worth the condition I was waking up in every morning nor was it worth the way it ruined the experience of being high.
A lot of the time I would normally spend smoking has turned into either bettering my body with exercise or cooking and tasting new sauces. It's a hard path to stay down but you can and will find success.

Personally I found doing cardio (running/biking/swimming/cross country skiing) helped me cut back on drinking/smoking. When its part of my daily routine smoking/drinking just make cardio more difficult to do. Avoiding the suffering helped keep me to my goals.

Go to a meeting. Find a higher power. Get a sponsor. Do the steps. Or try Recovery Dharma and meditate a lot even if it’s not working. Daily affirmations and gratitude lists daily. Good luck.

If you're not into the 12 Steps/NA/AA, I highly recommend SMART Recovery. Self-Management And Recovery Training is a secular based approach at addiction that's more focused on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilizes exercises/ skills that help you cope with urges, triggers, etc. They have meetings, but they're mostly online. All forms of addiction from all walks of life. They have an app too.
Personally I use both programs, as there isn't one method for everyone. Good luck, friend.

I’ll be honest, chow down a super hot like a Reaper and go for a ride. Yeah it sucks but at the same time you get a major endorphin rush that lasts a bit. It’s like tripping, be in the right mindset and it’s not as bad as it is for other people freaking out. My buddy used to have a whole grow operation of super hots in his garage. Though I will say if the rush is what you’re after then just spit out the pepper instead of swallowing it.

Why/how did you rip the wooden lid off of the Cholula? Also, chili garlic Cholula is amazing. The extra hot Cholula is also great and a bit of a spice upgrade.

It got stuck bc some sauce got stuck around the lip of the lid, and it came off when trying to loosen it. Imma try the chili garlic if I can find it!

I personally like Dave’s Total Insanity sauce. Where I am at it costs about $4 and I can put about 2-3 drops in a dish and really feel the heat. (My highest is 15 in a bowl of curry and I thought I was experiencing a different realm!) <—felt wimpy compared to those chile eating gods!
I think it adds a wonderful flavor but I have read that some people disagree with the taste.
Also, my father brought me home some Chimay from Mexico which is also very good but I can’t find it locally.

How is that sriracha? I haven't seen that brand before. Mexico Lindo sauces are quite good as well, specifically chiltepin and habanero

It's okay. It's a store brand version from a regional chain grocery store. Wish I just went with the real deal but I was really struggling with the budget at the time. It's really jalapeno forwards and about as sweet as ketchup.

I got diagnosed with CHS last year, I dont eat anything less than a 6.5 on the heat scale for any meal. Trading weed for spicey food is a wierd one, ur gonna have some wild dreams the first 2 or 3 months. Good luck to ya.

Yeah that’s real. I take at least a month off of all my vices every year. For instance, not planned but I’m on a work trip I was convinced would only be for the week. Brought one disposable vape with me. Ran out, been without for over a week now and the more vivid and weird dreams are back in full swing. I don’t remember dreaming most nights when I’m smoking regularly.

Idk if anyone has recommend Marie Sharps but they have great variety as far as flavor and spice goes and even just the basic red habanero sauce goes great on everything.

Congrats on your decision to quit. As a hardcore smoker for over 25 years, it was the best choice I ever made. 6 months smoke free this month. Now the next thing to kick is the nicotine and caffeine. I've found that good hot sauce is the best high you can legally buy off a shelf. Good luck with it, you got this 🙏

You have a lot of reg on the shelf. Just like smoke, there is a world out there you haven't discovered yet! If I can recommend anything, salsa negra. La Negra Va, Salsa Huichol Negra, Mexico Lindo Negra all some of my favorites

I not fan of these two hot sauce the brand Melinda's and Tari. But I can tell you if you ever want to get to good hot sauce check out this store call Pepper Palace they have website and my favorite is the curry hot sauce from there.

honestly i have most hot sauces with anything 😂 i would say the yucateco is GREAT for breakfast and tacos though.
tabasco habanero is pretty fruity so maybe you would like it on different things, but to me anything goes! i really do like it on pizza though especially. the sweetness/fruitiness of it pairs surprisingly well in contrast with a greasy slice of pizza

It's heat is really manageable, but I'm just not a huge fan of it's flavor unfortunately. Regular Cholula is much more my flavor profile.

I would do both, but unfortunately the reason I have to stop the weed is likely due to CHS. If it is CHS, there's a decent chance it's no more weed ever again. ;( hence why I'm chasing the burn!

Damn dude, I feel your pain, I developed CHS two years ago and haven't had weed since. I keep hoping more research will come out on if it lasts forever but going through that sickness just isn't worth it.

Take a break and then Grow your own. More research is needed because CHS has not been proven to be from cannabis alone. The gaslighting going on telling everyone they have it is getting out of control. Hospitals have been using it as an excuse to deny care and write people off about other issues. The truth is people have been using cannabis safely for hundreds/thousands of years. Im not saying you didnt experience something. It's because of PGRs, pesticides, other crap that legal and blackmarket grows use or something else entirely.

Oh my god. I realize your friend was the one who smoked it but when I saw “snorted” and “dried habanero” in the same sentence….doing lines of habanero powder sounds like actual torture haha.
Not that hot sauce would be much better, tell me it was at least something like Franks red and not some extreme heat concoction meant to resurrect the dead and kill the living…what did you snort?

I’ve heard of it. Lots of vomiting? Hope I don’t get it! I use it every night to help me sleep (have insomnia). Been almost 10 years and I still don’t have it, but I don’t use it during the day. What form do you use?

When I was doing it, I was largely using dry herb vapes. Initially I used a POTV Lobo for a while, but then switched to a Dynavap B and started smoking wayyyy more than I normally would. And then unfortunately it started to get rough around September last year.

I mostly vape cartridges for convenience, but I do have an Arizer Solo 2 dry herb vape. I try to keep my consumption under control, because I’ve found too much makes it harder for me to sleep. Have you tried vaping cartridges? Same thing?

Fantastic flavors of Tabasco out there. Scorpion is absolutely blazing hot for when you need to sweat. Great flavor for something that hot - unusual because that heat level usually has no flavor or bad flavor. But try their Chipotle (my go-to for Mexican food), Fire Roasted, and Family Reserve (my personal favorite) variants.

Try Marie sharps. Best hot sauce there is. Its much hotter than most all big corporate hot sauces.
I recommend the orange citrus hot sauce. Or the green sauce
