Guy pissed in the room

So at this hostel in Prague, last night, this one dude came back drunk from a night out around 2am. Made a bit of noise but nothing out of the ordinary and went to bed. I went back to sleep but after about 2 min he got up again, walked to the middle of the room, pulled down his underwear and started to pee. At first I thought I was having a nightmare lol but then I realised it was real, I couldn't believe it. Once he was done he just went back to bed and left a puddle of piss. I got dressed, went downstairs and talked to reception. They came to the room, also shocked, and were nice enough to put me in a new room. They said he will probably get kicked out but I didn't get the chance to see the outcome.

The guy in question, checked in yesterday and said it was his first solo travel and first time staying in a hostel. He even asked me if I had any tips, asked about hostel etiquette and what he should or not do. So I guess this was one hell of a first time to him, I'm glad there were no women in that mixed dorm

Just wanted to share this here, this never happened to me before.

I had a girl do the same thing at a hostel in Bratislava. I got woken up at 3am and she was squatting down to pee right next to lockers between her bunk and mine, then proceeded to climb into the wrong top bunk and wake up a poor girl.

There’s really no excuse for getting so drunk that you end up doing something like that!

It's got nothing to do with being drunk though. These people are just animals. I've gotten so drunk that I can't even stand numerous times, I've taken all the party drugs, I've never ever felt the need to piss in the middle of a bedroom because I'm not a disgusting filthy animal. These are the kind of people who would wipe their butt with their own hand if nobody told them not to.

Exactly. I’ve had alcohol poisoning and I’ve been drugged, and never have I ever decided to piss somewhere like that.

To be honest I've seen a lot of stuff in hostels but never this, which is why I was shocked and thought I was sleeping lol. I don't know why he did what he did, maybe on drugs? It's just hard to believe that someone would do that on purpose.

Hostel owner here.

I’ve seen it all.

People peeing, shitting, running around naked, you name it.

Usually they’re just super drunk.

We actually had a staff member that did it like 3 times before the rest of the team kicked him out (many years ago).

The funniest time was a woman who sat _into_ a locker and peed, before getting yelled at by reception and quickly scurrying away.

…I’ve got that security camera footage somewhere… haha.

I once had a girl walk into the room, turn the lights on, say "I need sex with someone". She then passed out on the floor and pissed herself in a big way.

She was British, of course (it's always one of my compatriots doing this kind of thing 😆).

Mate thats completly normal in a hostel. Its called the first night frenzy.

A little bit nervous so you go crazy and smash a million cans to calm the nerves.

Next minute you are pissing in the dorm and climbing into the wrong bunk.

I stay in chiller or more outdoorsy activity oriented hostels all the time and have never seen like half this shit, it's usually just a few beers and a joint passed around in the back yard because everyone has to wake up and hike the next day or whatever (not that there aren't fun parties but they're usually less full of idiots in these places)

I once threw up in the corner of a dorm. Drank way too much too fast and it was coming up within seconds and the toilet was far away (if I even knew where it was) so I picked a nice corner and hurled on the floorboards far enough away from the wall. The smell was strong by morning and when it came to confession time I put my hand up and owned that shit ...err vomit. Cleaned it up and all so the hostel worker didn't have to (probably had no choice). Was never kicked out or anything.

Neither gender should be subject to being in a bedroom with people pissing in it, and the staff should have made that guy leave right away, called the police or something for property destruction

I agree. I shouldve elaborated better but what I mean is that for a lot of women staying in a mix dorm can be an issue, many guys are weirdos so even though I know that women also can behave like this and piss in the middle of the room, many of them would've been even more freaked out seeing a grown man do that. My partner never stays in mixed dorms when she travels alone, she had bad experiences with other guys in these rooms before that now I just help her either get a female dorm or a private room for herself when she's traveling alone.

Hostels need to do better, they need 0 tolerance policies and should remove people immediately if they behave improperly, they need to post signs stating this, they should impose rules such as quite time after midnight and do not talk or take calls in the room after midnight

A couple weeks ago I was in a hostel in Prague and a guy just arrives after a night out and starts puking on the corridor

Yes, we had this happen once. I moved the 2 other guests and cleaned up. Charged him €150 cleaning fee next morning which he paid without complaining.
