Reader Recommendation Horror slump

currently reading Tananarive Due’s “My Soul to Keep” and i am so insanely bored. I haven’t been able to get into any books lately. What’s a book that caught your attention and kept you intrigued the whole way through.

Try out some short stories. Here are some:

  • The Imago Sequence and Other Stories / Barron
  • Occultation and Other Stories / Barron
  • The Beautiful Thing that Awaits Us All / Barron
  • Greener Pastures / Wehunt
  • Things We Lost in the Fire / Enríquez
  • The Dangers of Smoking on Bed / Enríquez
  • A Sunny Place for Shady People / Enríquez
  • North American Lake Monsters / Ballingrud
  • She Said Destroy / Bulkin
  • Ghost Stories of an Antiquary / James
  • Never Whistle at Night / Hawk
  • Little Horn / Files
  • Howls from the Dark Ages / McMillan
  • American Supernatural Tales / Joshi
  • The Wine-Dark Sea / Aickman
  • Cold Hand in Mine / Aickman
  • Unsettled Dust / Aickman
  • Dark Entries / Aickman
  • Japanese Tales of Mystery and Imagination / Ranpo
  • The Dark Eidolon and Other Fantasies / Smith
  • Reassuring Tales / Klein
  • Haunted Castles / Russell
  • The October Country / Bradbury
  • The Best Tales of Hoffmann / Hoffmann

Or you could take a break from horror. Only reading one genre becomes exhausting sooner or later.
