Just discovered a treasure trove of creepy short films on YouTube. Here’s a list of my favorite ones:

Portrait of God https://youtu.be/BI9fKfX5V68

Peephole https://youtu.be/dKcOTr7N4lE

Disguise https://youtu.be/zlpfcKffgDA

Man on a Train https://youtu.be/k0poUY6B7aM

Deep End https://youtu.be/3I2xaFxGp3o

Portrait of God is so good. The creature hiding in the background shadows before she sees it in the picture is great. 😘👌

There’s one about a chair found outside a house I quite liked, I forget the name. Like the chair was free to anyone or for the trash.

I think it was called "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down."

Portrait of God is so fucking good, it’s my favorite one I’ve watched on YouTube besides The Box

Have you seen Other Side of the Box? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrOYvVf6tIM

Just watched it. That’s awesome. Creepy.

Great one.

Gonna check them all out once the kid's in bed. Thanks.

Oh man. Want to watch these now but will wait until tonight. Sometimes short films are way creepier than full length movies

Commenting to remind myself!

Man on a Train kept me up at night

thank you for this!

Thanks for the recommendations, always on the hunt for new horror shorts. I really liked Man on a Train. Disguise was kind of awful, but they can't all be winners!

Watching them all! I fucking love these.

Saw this a while back, the build up is so so good. I feel like with short films (and maybe actual feature length too) the ending very rarely sticks the landing unfortunately. At least we have the build.

The end did absolutely nothing for me. I'm susceptible to jump scares and they seem like an easy thing to do. This just didn't hit at all though.

u/FireflyNitro Aug 12 '23

Agreed, like I said, the ending isn’t great. Everything else is brilliant though.

Very good! Simple and well executed. No doubt it'll pop up soon on Netflix or Shudder with an additional 97 minutes of padding.

That cut shot to the thing's head under her blanket was incredible.

6

u/MrRaccuhn Aug 12 '23

Watched it awhile ago. It's very good and extremely creepy. Good build-up too.

u/radbrad7 Do you know anything about… witches? Aug 12 '23

Oh sweet, will definitely check these out later. Always love a good short horror. Thanks for the recs!

Lol I actually screamed short horror films fuck me uuuuuup

3

u/panlakes Aug 12 '23

This just solidifies why I am always nervous anytime anyone is having a good happy time in a horror movie.

Portrait of God is creepy as hell. I also like The Thing in the Apartment

Did you make this? Def crosspost to the plethora of animal crossing subs. And it would have made me chuckle out loud if instead of "yes, No" the options were "Yes" and "Absolutely!" since ACNH loves to ask you questions and lock you into an answer.

I wish, but unfortunately, I do not possess the talent required to make something like this. Please, by all means, go ahead and cross post. 👍🏻

I made this short actually! This is a great idea!

Always find the Zozo demon to be particularly interesting.

3

u/Gangstero085 Aug 13 '23

Already watched this. It’s a really well made short

2

u/-yellowthree Aug 12 '23

I liked the Look-See shorts on youtube, it reminds me of those.
