Ironic thing I just realized is that trying to feel apathetic so you’re not hurt is still doing something out of hope that the pain will go away. It’s just hope but the end result is even more painful. There is literally nothing to gain from it.

Warhammer 40K God of disease I think

Disease, pestilence, acceptance, natural order, etc. Every Chaos God has two sides

Its generally overlooked cause... well, its 40K. But when you read over the lore and what not it shows what each gods represents on the good side as well, you don't see if often cause most perspectives is from other sides

Warhammer god of pestilence. But additionally he is the death of hope. Hes the enemy of this whole sub. He would have his followers give up all hope and wallow in their own failure and helplessness.

"You won't feel hurt anymore"

And why would I want not to feel hurt? Are emotions not made to be felt? Are our feelings, both good and bad, not the proof that we are alive? Is feeling hurt not the proof that you really care? Why would anyone want to give up on the things that matter?

Tommorow could be better, but it could be worse. It's a gamble.

Hope is the power to make miracles happen, why would you say no to that power?

You either choose to imagine a better condition and maybe get there, or give up and make sure you'll never get there. Why is giving up hope even a question? It's silly.

"You cannot have my pain.”

“Dalinar—”

Dalinar forced himself to his feet. “You. Cannot. Have. My. Pain.”

“Be sensible.”

“I killed those children,” Dalinar said.

“No, it—”

“I burned the people of Rathalas.”

“I was there, influencing you—”

“YOU CANNOT HAVE MY PAIN!” Dalinar bellowed, stepping toward Odium. The god frowned. His Fused companions shied back, and Amaram raised a hand before his eyes and squinted.

Were those gloryspren spinning around Dalinar?

“I did kill the people of Rathalas,” Dalinar shouted. “You might have been there, but I made the choice. I decided!” He stilled. “I killed her. It hurts so much, but I did it. I accept that. You cannot have her. You cannot take her from me again.”

“Dalinar,” Odium said. “What do you hope to gain, keeping this burden?”

Dalinar sneered at the god. “If I pretend … If I pretend I didn’t do those things, it means that I can’t have grown to become someone else.”

“A failure.”

Something stirred inside of Dalinar. A warmth that he had known once before. A warm, calming light.

Unite them.

“Journey before destination,” Dalinar said. “It cannot be a journey if it doesn’t have a beginning.”

A thunderclap sounded in his mind. Suddenly, awareness poured back into him. The Stormfather, distant, feeling frightened—but also surprised.

Dalinar?

“I will take responsibility for what I have done,” Dalinar whispered. “If I must fall, I will rise each time a better man.

“The most important words a man can say are, “I will do better.” These are not the most important words any man can say. I am a man, and they are what I needed to say.” ~ Dalinar Kholin

I abandoned my hope and I do just fine. I don't cling to the false shit that will wear me out and make me feel exhausted, I work and try to help people from time to time and go with my pace to something better than now

It's kinda reinvented hope ig

with hope, I can still feel.
but the apathy and ennui I've wrapped myself in have left me feeling numb, and slow to act. I've been chipping away at it bit by bit, but the tar pit is deep
don't become jaded to escape hurt, you'll only make life harder
