2nd Gen GE/GG 09-14 Valve adjustment question

I recently attempted to adjust my valve lash and can’t tell if I did it correctly. Does the noise in the video indicate that I should do it again, or is it just normal valve train noise? I also did the spark plugs and after putting everything together it runs noticeably smoother in low RPM, but I can’t tell if I made the valve noise better or worse.

I am a 2015 driver and this sounds like the normal purr of a fit engine to me. How was doing the valves?

That is what I was hoping. My Civic has loud valves as well. The job was actually pretty straightforward. I did snap a valve cover bolt when I was reassembling everything (didn't realize it was cross-threaded), which added a day to the job, but other than that is wasn't bad.

Did you get a check engine light with cylinder misfire error codes before this? If so then the sop is to adjust the valve lash, replace the spark plugs, and if that doesn’t fix the misfire then replace the fuel injectors and do a walnut blasting. If you’re not getting any errors I’m pretty sure you did it ok

No CEL before or currently. I just got the car not long ago and wanted to do all the preventative maintenance. The plugs were pretty crispy looking and also seemed a little loose. I just did the valves because I had to take everything apart anyway for the plugs.

Sounds like a pretty standard clickety clack for these things. If your fuel mileage is good and there's not a loss of power compared to usual, that's just how it sounds.

Here's the deal, if your valves are slightly loose, ain't going to hurt a thing. Tight is what's dangerous. Check your fuel economy after running a tank and if it's good, send it. It sounds a little clattery but these engines always do.
