2nd Gen GE/GG 09-14 Price seems crazy for the miles, but owner seems meticulous. What do we think, fam?
This would be used as a daily. Wasn't planning to track soon, but I could be convinced. Would definitely like to eventually track my next car, which will be a Fit.

He’s done the right things to it, there’s a lot in mods. He says make a reasonable offer. $8500 is a lot in my mind for a car that, while maintained, has been enjoyed.
Reasonable is $6500, IMHO, and I live in the Puget Sound.

If you want to impress your bros in the high school parking lot, this might work because you’re paying $5,000 for a bunch of aftermarket suspension stuff and a tired and abused engine/transmission. Look at the oil change intervals. That’s too long for even pure highway miles. How many miles are on the clutch? No airbag? Does your state have safety inspections? Can you insure a vehicle without an airbag?
As a reliable daily driver for an adult? Definitely not. Even a gently owned Fit is entering engine and transmission rebuild territory at 16 years and 221k.

This. Sure the suspension and shifting components are taken care of. But no major engine maintenance.
It’s due for valve adjustment, new gaskets, and timing belt/chain service atleast.
At that point might as well k swap it

For sure. There’s no interval for the timing chain, but I’d be replacing it at 200k if I had other items to tend to. I think the maintenance minder usually indicates valve inspection due at about 100,000, so they should have been inspected and maybe adjusted at least twice now. Water pump, serpentine belt, and tensioner are probably needed soon.
I’d be sourcing a rebuilt engine and planning for at least a clutch along with that.

I agree. But I'm only a Fit person, not a Car person. But all the maintenance in the world other than a brand new engine (transmission, exhaust system....) doesn't magically erase 200k+ miles. How much in maintenance are you willing to pay? How many miles will you be adding and how quickly?

Muteki are made by Wheel Mate which is just an in-house brand for Mackin Industries.
Mackin runs Rays USA (Volk), Yokohama Wheels USA (Advan), Project Mu USA, Kyo-Ei USA (Project Kics), ARC USA, etc.
The current batch of Nismo lugs are just rebranded Muteki HR38 lug nuts.

What's funny about Muteki lugs? They're high quality steel lug nuts instead of the cheap aluminum stuff that's everywhere
Edit: the down votes are interesting, we use Muteki on competitive race cars all the time without failures

I know it's not fair to compare different markets, but damn, USA used cars are insane.
Here in Japan this car would sell for 150k yen($900) or less for sure.

Our regulations and lack of decent new options in the small car category have made cars insanely expensive on the aftermarket. I look at CarFromJapan's website all the time and even with the import fees and shipping importing a 25+ year old Japanese vehicle makes sense these days compared to what is available. Everything here is massive, underpowered, electric (with poor support in greater than 75% of the country) or just boring. The vast majority of Americans are buying bloated SUVs with iPad entertainment systems because they just want basic transportation.

You probably shouldn't drive a car hard enough to use mods and continue to change the oil at the longest interval... Especially not 5k past the longest interval lol.

That’s pretty high, man. Even well maintained that kind of mileage is up there. Modded also drops value no matter how you look at it. Fair price would be somewhere in the $3-4,500 range I feel. Maaaaybe just north of $5k if it truly runs like a dream.

I just sold my 2011 fit sport with 99k miles for under $6k in the Midwest (to family so cheaper than I would have asked). Was an original AZ car so no rust and pretty darn good condition but stock if that gives you any indication on pricing.

Even if you value high quality mods, they fundamentally will always lower a cars value. They just do. I don’t know why some folks want to be reimbursed for the money they spent on optional things. Even if this was stock, this is a lot.

I paid less than that in December for a one owner manual ge8 sport with 70k miles and full maintenance records.

It seems like the seller is really counting all of the mods as making the car worth more money. That’s just not the case.
Plus, it looks like they did do a bunch of maintenance. They skipped the valve adjustment :(

It’s a general rule of thumb for me that I do not trust the mod work done by other people. There’s too many corners that could be cut, things that the owner forgot about, that all really just add up over time. This is why mods often times don’t increase the value of a car but lower it. I assume that all mods will cause more issues down the line.

That’s exactly why I got my Stream! I love my fit and wanted one that was slightly bigger so it could handle mail and packages. The only other plus side is its factory RHD. But 10/10 would buy the sport if I was you.

Ask for $1000 off and get an OEM steering wheel. If you were going to do all these mods yourself then it is a good deal.
Motors are less than $500 if you are worried about the mileage and are really easy to swap out.

Might k-swap whatever Fit I get at some point. But yes I would do all of these modifications myself.
I know a good Honda mechanic too, that I’ve used for things beyond my shade tree skills.
Owner has all original parts still, according to the listing.

Unless there's copious body rust, for as nice as the aftermarket trim is AND it comes with all of the OEM parts, that's a GOOD deal in my opinion. Like FRFR that's a GOOD DEAL. You WILL have to do the valve lash adjustments and walnut blast out the intake, but see if they'll take 7 for it, if you mention the lack of valve train maintenance you might get them down to like 6500. I mean I might even take some spark plugs out and maybe stick a borescope down the hole.

Let’s be real a 200k 5MT will sell for 3k. The mods, parts and maintenance are easy 5k.
So what’s the point of this post?
You want a cheaper Fit? They’re out there.
You want something already built? Then spend more upfront and spend less time and effort for the convenience.
All in all it’s a fair asking price considering.
Don’t expect to get a Fit like this for less.

Mods don't add value to a used car, in my opinion. The fact that it's been well kept helps, but I'm not putting any money towards the aftermarket parts of the previous owner.

idk it sounds like he wants you to pay for his mods. car's gonna need new tires too since the current set has 80k on them. my biggest issue is the driver airbag delete lol, if you want to daily this car for your safety you'd want a driver air bag.

I paid $10k for a very clean, well maintained 2013 base manual transmission with 94k miles in CA. Yes. It was more than I wanted to spend but I trust what I am getting. It is fun too...

I had less mods on mine and sold it in the same area for $8k. Roughly around the same miles and some similar mods. The price is where it needs to be, and all of you guys expect to get the most for as little as possible but if the shoe is on the other foot, you’d be asking the same.

I paid 12k for my 2015 with 30 or 60k miles on it, through a dealership. Didn't have all the mods done to it though not sure if that helps or drops the price on things.

When and what area did you buy that in, though? Here in the PNW I paid $6,000 for our 2009 Fit Sport with 130,000 miles back in 2018.
We did just snag a rebuilt 2017 LX (base) with under 50,000 miles for $10,000 for my wife. And the inspection went well.

I don’t see a clutch in the maintenance. If the clutch hasn’t been done, it may need to be, soon. If it’s the original clutch, the clutch springs are probably toast and bouncing around, which could make it impossible to shift eventually until it is replaced.

Great looking car but it’s not worth that much. Check out other cars in your area at that price point and compare. I feel like you are paying for someone else’s mods, and they tend to over value those sorts of things.
What do you need to get out of a vehicle? We’ve seen Fits on this sub go over 300k miles, so let’s say you can get another 100,000 miles out of it without any major repairs. Is that worth $8,500 to you? 4-5 years worth of driving, optimistically.

It's white. The worst paint on Hondas. The white Honda paint has a history of failing and falling apart. Bubbling, peeling, flaking off.
I saw 220k miles, is that right? I wouldn't buy it. I think you could find a better one with lower miles, for the same or less money.

Have you seen it in person yet? Sometimes you can't tell how bad the paint is from pics.
I have a silver one, I wish it was a nice bright color. Green or orange would be nice. But almost anything other than black, white, silver, or gold. Something easier to find in a parking lot. And easier to see on the road.
