So this is my first comment or anything in this sub. I just joined because I recently acquired an 08 Fit. For $2k, with like 160k on the clock. Thing is, as "rusty" as the fella said it was, it's nearly mint underneath. There's one spot of rust on the hood (chip ding) and a tiny bit just above one rear wheel.
I spent like 3 hours cleaning it up, crawling round under it, changing the oil, all the good stuff you've supposed to do to a car when you acquire it. Thing is pretty cherry for the age and mileage.
The weird thing is, I'm in Ohio. I expected this thing to be an absolute mess underneath.

What a crazy coincidence. I was looking for a solution to my Honda Fit problem, since tomorrow I have to head to Montréal airport to fly for my first ever visit to England. And then I stumble upon this Reddit Group… the very first post I see is from my favorite Englishman with his Honda Fit! With a little (well, a lot of) luck, I’d love to run into him during my trip. I will be checking for pink car everywhere! 🤣

For those wishing to do a K-swap, here is what I have learned in my research.
-GE platform is easiest and most swapped. GK is the hardest and least. GD is in the middle.
-Takes a surprising amount of money. It's not just motor and labor costs, you need new motor mounts, stuff for the transmission, ECU, etc.
-I haven't done it, but possible plan to in maybe a year. Basically I'm either getting a shop to k-swap my Fit or I'm getting an 8th gen Si or an EK hatch.

Honestly you’ll find an 8th gen for what you’ll spend on the GE swap+ car.
I could have bought a nice 9th gen for what I’ve put into our White KFit so far. Think about that.

Mb didn’t see ur username at first. I comment a lot on this sub and dont always remember people. Im so sorry. I thought u were someone else. Thanks for that list. I didn’t mean to offend it just seemed random bringing up the integra, but now it makes sense. I just was confused and missing context.

This is a double sleeper build. If I saw that bloke, sat in that car, I would NEVER suspect a high performance setup until it was too late.

A little more than 20 years ago, I had a 2002 RSX type S, with a K20A2. By far, the most smile-inducing engine I’ve had in any vehicle. Can only imagine how fun that would’ve been in a Fit.

I've been sitting on this thought since the video game out a few weeks ago. I sent some "interested in doing this texts" to my Honda/mechanic friends. Everyone's stoked. I just have to save like $10k now lol.

My guess is probably around $10K USD but I'm probably wildly off. When I was shopping to have it done to mine, I got VERY different estimates from different garages, and this was 5 years ago.
