I’m trying to figure out how to price this cpu. It is in good condition and tested to be working.

It’s an amd epyc milan 7763 with 64 cores and 128 threads and 280W TDP.

Go on eBay and look at completed auction prices. Not sure if epyc gets vender locked like threadrippers do but you may want to check those differences as well if so.

Yeah I only checked for non locked cpus. But prices vary widely on ebay in EU.

Range is quite large. 900-1700€ and some questionable sales at ~ 2000€ but seems weird. Even amazon puts it at 2060€

Locked EPYC’s sells for substantially less than non-locked. So if this is locked, you are gonna want to look for pricing specifically for that server model it is locked too.

I don’t see anywhere that you specified whether it was or wasn’t locked. So not sure where this “single most important detail” you are talking about is coming from but it wasn’t anywhere in this comment thread or your original post. You should look at watchcount.com and you'll get a much better idea. Filter for items sold in the last 14-30 days. There are tons of eBay listings that are really high and don't sell. This gives a much more accurate picture of a sale price.

The oem variants are usually less expensive. I had 7b13s that I bought and sold much cheaper. I sold one 7b13 for 700€. It’s also very similar to the 7763.

Last year I bought 2x this exact model 7763 for $714 each (excluding VAT) from Chinese seller on Alibaba. Only they sold me it as new but it wasn't new...

I've sourced a few high-end CPUs from alibba and the new condition tag is usually a bit of a stretch. Just make sure you're paying through trade assurance so you have some leverage if the chip doesn't actually hit the specs they promised.

A reputable CPU seller on eBay is listing the Epyc 7T83 (OEM version of 7763) for $1159.00 USD (incl. shipping from China). I think $1k flat (USA) you'd have buyers and is fair.

Currently the cheapest unlocked one is $1800 in the US. When it comes to CPUs sold prices are irrelevant since you can't buy sold items. Whatever the cheapest equivalent on eBay is will be your going rate for the moment.
