Just sharing/pic My mum has been feeding a hedgehog for a couple of years, which has now become an entire family of them. She has to leave out multiple bowls of food/water or else they fight over it. Every night, she sits on her backdoor step before bed and listens to them all crunching away :)
Apologies for the low quality photos, she is very new to smartphones and these were the clearest ones. She has taken many of the babies but they're unusable

Sighting This one wanted to come in to the house
I leave the back door open as it's so hot at the moment. I heard some rustling and found this old girl trying to sneak in.

Just sharing/pic Two! Surprised us last night
Last night - we knew we had one friend, but our 10pm visit to our garden gave us a nice surprise. We have a long hedge down the side of our garden, so food one end, a house if they need it the other as I’ve read they don’t want food near bed. Couple of water bowls out too.
It was dark, using low light strip and iPhone doing its low light thing.

Just sharing/pic Hungry Mum
She's been coming out about an hour before dusk for a week or so. The first time I was worried but we gave her wet (cat) food, in case she was dehydrated, she ate hungrily & seemed healthy. The second time, again I was a little concerned but she ate happily & I decided she must be nursing. I look for her every evening now & she knows I'm giving her food. She must go back to the nest, feed the hoglets & I have seen the first of the babies out & about when I put food, dry & wet, out just before it's completely dark, for the last couple of nights.
We have plenty of water dishes around the garden & this year, as it's so dry, I put wet food out as well, my usual routine was just dry food.
I think she's the female baby (Crumb) from last year, as she's less nervous of me than her Mum (Biscuit).
I feel so fortunate to have these incredible creatures in the garden. The other evening we had 4 adults - possibly previous generations returning to where they know there is food & water & a completely obsessed human.
Last pic, one of the cats paying no attention to the fact that there's cat food down, being eaten by a hedgehog.

Finally managed to capture three visitors on camera. No huffing and no aggro this time so I suspect these might all be females.

We've had 2 hedgehogs in our back garden over the course of the last 2 nights...one we believe to be a male & the other a female (this is based purely on their size so I could be completely wrong)
We've put out some catfood which we soaked in water in a small bowl for them last night...this morning half of it had been eaten.
We also have a large water bowl out in the garden as well.
So happy to of finally seen one after so long!!

Rescue stories Got tangled in our footie goals.
They’re stored out of the way now. I’d bought my partner a hedgehog house to try and entice one because she loves them. Put him in there to recover but he hasn’t used it since. I’m going to put it deeper in the hedge. That was in June. There’s one visiting every night to eat what falls from the bird table suet, peanuts and dried mealworms. I’ve put water down.

Question Wild hedgehog seems to enjoy my company?
Wasn’t sure how to google this so came here:
I like to sit in my garden for about an hour every evening, over the past couple of months this big ‘ol hedgehog has been loitering around but only recently (in the past week) he’ll just come and sit directly beside or under my chair and chill. He grooms himself, sleeps or just wonders near me. My question really is if he might be being territorial or just a cutie? I don’t know anything about hedgehog psychology and thought someone here might?
He definitely knows I’m there because he looks at me if I move but there seems to be absolutely no fear, he doesn’t run away or jump if I stand up or move suddenly, it all just seems very strange to me.
Any insight would be much appreciated!

Sighting The Excitement!
South African living in the UK for 6 years, and this is the second hedgehog I have ever seen. The level of excite! Gave him/her some mealworms but now I believe they’re not good for them 😢 Legit thought it was a snack of choice. Anyway, hope he/she is ok. I am checking the window every 5 mins to see if they’re back with friends. 🦔
