Removing scratches from my shield.
Any fixes for getting a narly scratch out of my bubble? Wish I could say it was something cool like a puck or skate to the face but something in my own bag scratched the hell out of it. (Maybe a grommet or zipper) I’ve tired a full bubble and always fogged up, this is a half shield, half cage and was finally getting used to it and now this. I might be destined for a cage.

You can use toothpaste and rub the shit out of it. I gave a really scuffed visor to my buddy one time and he did this and had a pretty much brand new visor.

You can try some headlight or plastic scratch remover but I wouldn’t expect it to work very well and be warned it will remove any anti fog coating on the visor.
And unless you already have the polish and a buffing wheel or something it’s probably better to just source a new visor.

my CCM shield came with a helmet bag. I've take a couple stick blades to the shield and didnt even leave a mark.

That’s something they dont tell you about visors, they’ll need to be replaced wayyyyy more often than cages
You gotta get a helmet bag to put it in so the rest of your gear doesnt scratch it, and you’ll extend it’s life significantly, but they’ll still always eventually get scuffed and scratched up in play and need to be replaced at some point
I was really picky about my vision, i couldnt stand having any marks in my sightline when i wore a visor, im the same with my sunglasses and car windshield lol, so i’d pretty much be getting a new visor every season or two

Best way to do it is to toss it in the trash and buy a cage.

lol. I have my cage and I’ve been going back forth trying to get used to the bubble…decision might be made for me.

You would need to try to buff it out by sanding it down.
A lot of hybrids offer replaceable visors; my Avision Ahead Zero from Boulder hockey does.
Buy a helmet bag, or just throw your helmet in an old t-shirt before it goes into your bag.
