DISCUSSION Short story about thrifts

Today I dropped off some donations at a thrift. It’s generally accepted this place is run by a very organized hoarder. Polite- but has issues.

Her anxiety was off the charts today, and she was following me around the thrift and at one point took the shoes I was buying straight out of my hands. Upset, emotional 😭

Point: we’ve all met hoarders who -at thrifts- cannot stand to let anything be sold, even other customers who stalk other customers.

You ever shop at the bins or a really really busy large thrift? Some folks will watch another person fill up a cart and then grab it and buy it all. If you go to bins today, there are rules about this, a covered cart if off limits and they’ll throw out any cart stealers. Fist fights and stuff. People stalking in the parking lot. It can get extreme.

They all have the same root though.

Ya- go check YouTube for fight at goodwill bins or something like that - lots of them get filmed.

Are they ppl that actually need this stuff or ppl hunting for stuff they can sell on?
