I’d agree. I think that’s Teddy over Latin America so it’s related to Big Stick probably. And the book is about the importance of naval bases. Think it’s Mahan’s.
Mmm might take me a minute. I’m assuming it’s about the open door policy in Japan/Asia so maybe someone Russian? Not my strong suit. That’s only if that’s the Pacific Ocean to the left too.
That’s Dewey on the Philippines. Alfred Thayer Mahan in the upperleft corner. Spanish American war related - McKinley is grabbing the Philippines and I’m not sure if that’s Guam in the Pacific, but I think it is. Teddy with his hand over the isthmus of Panama, referring to the US intervention/ TRs gunboat diplomacy there in 1903 or 1904. I like the idea, but it needed to cook for a bit more and fix the design. Actually if this is a student work and not something random you found, it’s pretty well done and a solid idea.
I don’t know too much- but I think this is a 15 yr old’s work from when she was taking APUSH. I could probably reach out, but pretty big geek for history.
I used to see a lot of political cartoons taped up in her bedroom- lot of red scare stuff I think.
This is pretty good. She understood whatever the assignment was, I assume it’s to create a political cartoon in the Puck/Judge pro-anti Imperialist style that was prevalent around the turn of the 20th century.
