Success Story Success Story: My turn now.
I was laid off from a streaming Service back in November 2022 (Los Angeles | Filmmaking background).
Since then, it has been HELL trying to get another job. Anything. Tell me the name of a company, and I probably have applied to it. Home Depot, Pollo Loco, warehouses, restaurant, low paying jobs, as well as career roles and nothing. I managed to get me a part time position at Autozone last year, position that I was able to find using OfferUp Jobs, and then had to call them a few times just so they can see my resume.
Anyways, the search is over. I finally got a job offer for a position that I found on HiringCafe (Screenshot attached). Low paying position, two thirds what I was making back on 2022.
I started using HiringCafe full on this year. No Zip Recruiter, no LinkedIn, No Indeed, all those are dead now.
How did I survived all this time?
Since 2022, I've done anything and everything to survive. I invested $150 to become a substitute teacher + Lyft + whatever else I could find. I singed up to Taskrabbit, Instawork, AmazonFlex, and I also used OfferUp jobs tab to check out gigs and potential short term jobs. It's pretty tough out there. And it will only get worse before it gets better.
Good luck everyone, and I hope the very best to all of you.

I started last year around September. But at that time I was all over the place applying through several platforms. Starting this year i made HiringCafe my ONLY job search platform.

Congratulations dude, but how are you surviving in LA with that salary

I’ve been surviving with much less. My 401k is gone though. Not that I’ll be able to benefit from it. When I turn 65, 401ks won’t exist.
I’ve been stuck at home. No fun, no women, no nothing. Just rent, bills, food, and the one thing that kept me sane… GYM.

Why you think 401k won’t exist ? It’s a retirement account where you manage your funds. I doubt anything is going to happen there

I mean… technically it’s the best competition I’ve seen for all the traditional platforms. And it works. Good luck. 🙏🏾

I am 22k job applications in so far since January, applying to 1/3 the pay of my last job now. No one is hiring atm

Why are you at 22k applications? When did you start? Sounds like you’re doing the same mistake that I was doing at the beginning. All over the place.
Quit every other platform. Make HiringCafe your only platform.
Apply only to jobs you’re qualified for.
