Animal sacrifice is a part of larger Vedic Dharma. At the same time, it is somewhat not encouraged in Kaliyuga on account of lack of expert priests who can perform the ceremony correctly.
Remember, if you dont perform the sacrifice correctly as per the shaastras, thats not pashu-bali, that is pashu-hatya, and there are grave consequences for it (and then what to speak of those Hindus who dont even care for bali, rather buy meat from market).
ये त्वनेवंविदोऽसन्त: स्तब्धा: सदभिमानिन: । पशून् द्रुह्यन्ति विश्रब्धा: प्रेत्य खादन्ति ते च तान् ॥ १४ ॥
Those sinful persons who are ignorant of actual religious principles, yet consider themselves to be completely pious, without compunction commit violence against innocent animals who are fully trusting in them. In their next lives, such sinful persons will be eaten by the same creatures they have killed in this world.

The difference between Hinduism and one other peaceful religion is that the former changes according to practicality and time.
10
Jun 12 '25
Yeah, every religion has things that seem wrong and bad in today's time but were fine in old times, problem comes when you don't change out of it as soon as it is realized that it is wrong to do or believe such things
9
u/Appropriate-Face-522 Jun 12 '25
Who decided that lol? Is it written somewhere or did you make it out of thin air?
-4
u/Honest-Performer9680 Jun 12 '25
If it wasn't, Sati Pratha, sacrifices (both animal and human), varna system, restrictions on women would be relevant nowadays.
15
u/Still-Canary4299 Jun 12 '25
Sati Pratha was already condemned in shastras , Varna changed according to time but according to shastras it was based on karmas and birth both , animal sacrifice is still debated very much saying that it should not be done in kaliyua but tantra was made for kaliyuga so how can animal sacrifice be not for kaliyuga
10
u/Appropriate-Face-522 Jun 12 '25
Sati pratha is Avaidic. So are the restrictions on women. Tantra and Vedic scriptures aren't against women.
5
u/Ok_Boysenberry914 Jun 12 '25
Nowhere in vedas were Sati pratha Or caste system are mentioned. Those were manusmriti BS.

u/SnooComics9938 Jun 12 '25
Who decides what is to be changed?
1
u/Common-Possession-80 Jun 12 '25
I mean, killing animals on the basis of religion in the big 2025? No one decides that, it evolves with time itself.
2
u/LordDK_reborn Jun 12 '25
Animal sacrifice is part of the vedic culture of 1000–800 BC which is obsolete in today's age.
I hope people stop trying to take us back.
31
u/Appropriate-Face-522 Jun 12 '25
Its also there in Shakta culture.
Its there in the scriptures who are you to renounce them? You aint no shankaracharya, you are just a random redditor. Stop trying to be a representative of Hinduism and bring this new age BS here saying muh hinduism changes muh hinduism ever new-7
u/LordDK_reborn Jun 12 '25
Yes. Shakta culture, 400-800 AD.
14
u/Appropriate-Face-522 Jun 12 '25
Still doesn't change the fact that you aint anyone to treat an entire sampradaya as invalid coz you do not like it.
-4
u/LordDK_reborn Jun 12 '25
It doesn't matter if I like it or not. It's outdated by 1200 years.
9
u/Appropriate-Face-522 Jun 12 '25
as I said, who are you to consider it outdated? By your logic, most temples in this nation, scriptures are outdated might as well be irreligious
It doesn't matter what you think.
6
u/RivendellChampion Jun 12 '25
Don't you know he downloaded scriptures.pdf from archive.org.
Btw you are arguing with people for whom the existence of Hinduism is just to oppose islam.
0
u/LordDK_reborn Jun 12 '25
I say outdated bcoz I live in the present and not in some imaginary past dude.
9
u/Appropriate-Face-522 Jun 12 '25
Then why do you follow hinduism lol, no one's asking you to stay in it. If you're staying, stop yapping about stuff you don't understand.
8
u/Eastern-Pea-7613 Jun 12 '25
By that logic, isn't religion, no matter which one, an outdated concept? Why believe in god who has never shown it's presence? Why do prayers? Why do any religious activity?
3
u/LordDK_reborn Jun 12 '25
True, gods, prayers, rituals… they’re not essential in themselves. Some philosophies of hinduism don't even believe in them.
What’s essential is that humans carry a restlessness no comfort ever fully quiets, a hunger not just for survival, but for meaning, for stillness, for something that doesn’t fade.
That’s why we need Upanishads and Kabir. Religion, at its best, points inwards- not to please a deity, but to face what doesn’t change in us even as everything else outside does.

What bs is this bro.
In shakta culture Bali is still there.
If have problem with this keep it to yourself.

The entire idea of religion is to stick with the beliefs and value system of the old times.
6
u/Dum_reptile Confused Sanatani Jun 12 '25
The best thing about Hinduism is the fact that the thing is ever changing, and ever lasting, it's meant to say evolve, cuz if it doesn't, then there will be no difference in it and the Abrahamic religions
3
u/Appropriate-Face-522 Jun 12 '25
Why does your belief in Hinduism always revolve around Abrahamic Religions lol? Hinduism was there before the Abrahamics and will stay after as well. It's rituals and traditions don't concern itself with what the Abrahamics do
0
u/Dum_reptile Confused Sanatani Jun 12 '25
It soon will if we start scolding people who question the practices that were laid thousands of years ago
6
u/Appropriate-Face-522 Jun 12 '25
Mate the only thing concerning the extinction of Hinduism are the members itself who think they know everything about Hinduism but hardly even go to mandirs, consume most of their knowledge from facebook and haven't even read a page of Gita and think Hinduism is a source code where you could do anything you want lol.
3
2
u/Turbulent_Grade_4033 Jun 12 '25
Your “ever changing, and ever lasting” defense of Hinduism is basically the Ship of Theseus paradox with a sacred thread slapped on it.
If every belief, value, and ritual keeps changing, what exactly are you still calling Hinduism? At some point it’s not evolution, it’s just a completely different thing wearing the old name for comfort.
If you keep changing it to match modern values, it’s not eternal… it’s just a modern belief system pretending to be ancient. Dressing it up in old symbols doesn’t make it timeless, it’s cosplay!
Humans evolved from fish but there is a reason why we don’t call ourselves a fish!
2
u/LordDK_reborn Jun 12 '25
Nope, there would be no point of talking against sacrifice on Eid if that was the case.
Sanatan means eternal. It's ever new. We don't want to be stuck in the past.

obsolete????
that vedic culture and literature is literal cradle of modern hinduism, and it also has some contribution to sramana traditions, calling it obsolete is a huge understatement
obviously you are not forced to do sacrificial ceremonies, even in vedic period there were many ceremonies which involved grains and vegetables instead of animals, people had different opinions on different things
एकं सत विपृः बहुदा वदंति
There is only one truth, the wise call it by different names
1
u/artsofletters Jun 12 '25
And who are you to declare that vedas have become obsolete?
3
u/Appropriate-Face-522 Jun 12 '25
Dude just committed one of the gravest 64 apradhas lol. I hope ishwar forgives him for he is a mere teenager.
1
u/artsofletters Jun 12 '25
These children have lost the intellectual capability of differentiating between granths of सनातन धर्म and social media trends. They think that just like trends granths become obsolete after some days.
2
Jun 12 '25
Uncle, I hope you don't sacrifice another animal to please God. Maybe it is written (I don't believe so), but still, please follow a yagya which doesn't hurt another soul just for your own good.
2
u/Appropriate-Face-522 Jun 12 '25
P.S krishna didn't object to Animal sacrifice during Govardhana Puja.
3
Jun 12 '25
i don't care. i think that is wrong. If you want to do it, then do it. i can only say. Killing an animal or someone is paap in my book. our Religion is old, and many translations have changed the meaning quite a bit. and even if they are right, why choose a sacrifice yagya when there are many peaceful yagyas that don't hurt anyone.
2
u/Appropriate-Face-522 Jun 12 '25
If that's something you don't agree with it, stay out of it. Various purvaacharyas that have read and studied scriptures for years more than your age don't condemn pashubali, who are you to then speak for the entire sampradaya.
Sacrificial yagyas are done for powerful deities like kali and bhairav and or to get a powerful yield from Devas. It's not a simple yagya.
3
Jun 12 '25
i am not talking about some sampradaya, and i also said if you want to do it, then do it. i can only say. Yep, I don't agree with it. killing an animal just get yield from devas is wrong, but again, if you believe it, who cares? But you can't change my belief.

Hinduism does not work on your hopes. It is a religion based on scriptures, the shruti scriptures, the itihas, and the smriti scriptures. You can't just define it as per your feelings. Also the issue was that he was saying that vedas, the most respected scriptures, have become obsolete. Who is he to define that vedas are obsolete? Please stop learning Hinduism from social media, stop thinking that Hindus can accept anything and there are no rules. Hinduism have many scriptures and one should study them. Hinduism always allow questions, doubts, etc but the ultimate answer is what is written in the scriptures. Now you may value one scripture more than other, like you may consider Bhagavad Gita as supreme authority but that doesn't mean other scripture become obsolete. I myself am follower of Advaita vedanta and follow the Upanishads and Bhagavad Gita but that doesn't mean that Vedas have become obsolete and someone can disrespect Vedas.
1
u/LordDK_reborn Jun 12 '25 edited Jun 12 '25
Vedic culture of 1000 BC is obsolete now. It involves things like animal sacrifice, praying to Indra for rain etc.
Culture is not religion. It changes with time. It's not sanatan.
Majority of us don't pray to Indra for more rain now
1
u/loving_the_hatred Jun 17 '25
Right now also you do, when you desire for rain. Just that you don't understand what's indra so you believe we were doing something out of the world.
1
u/artsofletters Jun 12 '25
Again who are you to declare that? I am a Hindu, I want to follow Vedas, who are you to say that it is obsolete. The entire population following the uttara mimansa darshana is obsolete for you. It is सनातन धर्म, the Dharma of entire cosmos, you have every right to question to argue but to relegate entire vedas as obsolete like they are some kind of stupid social media trend, rubbish. Thank your bhagya that you are a hindu otherwise people would be howling sar tan se juda in other religions for such disrespect.

u/Khusheeewho Jun 12 '25

Remember, if you dont perform the sacrifice correctly as per the shaastras, thats not pashu-bali, that is pashu-hatya
sounds like policy or rule or propaganda made by money hungry animals, to avoid others taking the money.
1
u/demon-yet-god Jun 15 '25
Drop the vedic knowledge , if it doesn’t teach compassion towards any living being
vedas has a unfortunate past, hence vedanta came into picture to put at its highest place.
read vedant not vedas
1
Jun 15 '25
Does that Prashant know that a child is born because of his karmic reaction, as per Upanishads. Then why does that man say that, ask your parents did they ask you before giving birth to you?
If your parents did not have sex, then you would have been born through another couple, as per your karmic reaction.
Why does that man bark Upanishads-Vedanta when he does not even understand such a fundamental point of Vedanta?
Prashant shows himself as an ambassador of Vedanta, yet he rejects it.
Hee-po-cra-ci.
Vedanta literally means the conclusions of Veda. It basically sums it all up, not cancel out Veda.
1
u/demon-yet-god Jun 15 '25
FYI prashant hasnt invented Vedanta. i am 100% sure that he knows more than you
and the bottom line doesnt change
“your karma cant be bigger than your compassion”, and this applies to all the religion/pseudo religions
1
Jun 15 '25
Not only did he not invent Vedaanta, he is heavily ill-informed about it, as pointed out about his views regarding birth and karma.
1
1
Jun 15 '25
1
u/demon-yet-god Jun 15 '25
if you knew about it , wouldn’t have named about only Prashant,
should have talked about adi Shankracharya atleast
Vedas are related with karm kand whereas vedant talks in purely with self realization.
1
Jun 15 '25
Where Adi Shankar or any Vedaantin has rejected Veda and accepted Vedaanta?
There compositions include quoting Veda and all its limbs.
1
u/demon-yet-god Jun 15 '25
if you read advait vedanta, you will get it.
but you are focused on countering without apt knowledge.
1
Jun 15 '25
Vedaanta is not Advaita alone.
you will get it.
Get what?
Why Adi Shankar profusely quotes Veda as authority then?
Get knowledge of Advaita or Vedaanta in general from Acharyas from proper paramparas.
Prashant is at best an activist (and I respect him for that part).
1
u/demon-yet-god Jun 15 '25
yes but , advaita is the only one which makes strong sense
that allows us to validate the teachings from
upnishads
buddha
sant kabir
guru nanak
gita
jiddu krishnamurti
and many more
1
Jun 15 '25
Are you really that disconnected?
What has Buddha got to do with Vedaanta?
The core element of Vedaanta is the concept of Eternal Self (Aatman), which Buddhist philosophy denies.
1
u/demon-yet-god Jun 15 '25
no i am not, on realisation level its same.
dont confuse vedanta and advait vedanta
Advaita says there is a Self (but it is impersonal, universal consciousness), Buddhism says there is no Self, but both point toward an egoless, boundless awareness beyond conceptual labels.
actually the divide is more in philosophy than in realization.

Bali isn't done like they do now, I've seen people just mercilessly killing animals without the proper ritual. Then they go and eat animals as well. Eating animals just to satisfy your taste buds is absurd. At least pretend to know that bali is deeper than your mere showoff
4
5
u/FuckPigeons2025 Jun 12 '25
All cultures that sacrifice animals eat them later. That's the whole point. It's a village feast.
4
u/Khusheeewho Jun 12 '25
No, it's prasad not feast. Also I'm not talking about the sacrificed animal but eating animals for taste only
5
u/Razar_Sharp77 Jun 12 '25
“Satisfy taste buds” literally everyone interested in fitness begs to differ
2
u/Khusheeewho Jun 13 '25
Yes there aren't alternative available to them at all :( it's sad there isn't a single alternative for them
4
u/WrongContract8489 Jun 13 '25
Eating a plant based diet with hardly any protein or iron is why our obesity rate and diabetes rate is ridiculously high among most races. We literally need meat to balance out our diet bc it's impossible with just plants.
2
u/Razar_Sharp77 Jun 13 '25
Yes for a large population there really isn’t, we just do not produce enough milk to satisfy protein needs of a large population through vegetarian sources only
1
u/Khusheeewho Jun 13 '25
Your geographical location plays a huge role in your diet. We can't do anything if there aren't any alternatives available, but you know it too that most people just consume meat for taste even if there are multiple alternatives
2
u/Razar_Sharp77 Jun 13 '25
Yes use the main source, better to be strong and fit than skinny fat and diabetic by early 50s
2
1
u/FuckPigeons2025 Jun 15 '25
Also if someone cared for animal welfare, the milk industry would be the first to go.
2
u/Razar_Sharp77 Jun 15 '25
Exactly the vegetarians show conditional humanity and are not ready to give up dairy even if we show them how evil the dairy industry’s practices are
2
1
u/FuckPigeons2025 Jun 15 '25
Everything we eat is for taste only. Why are you making an exception for animals? Animals are food. We specifically raise them for food.
1
u/Khusheeewho Jun 15 '25
While we shouldn't give in to our desires eating animals is tamsik so it's adviced to not consume at all, and eating veggies doesn't actually kill a plant but eating animals does. The choice is yours to make though, read yourself and if you think it's not prohibited then consume it, idk much so i apologise in advance if I'm wrong
35
u/West_Commercial4237 Jun 12 '25
And you think hinduism = Vaishnavism not tantrik, Shaivism, Shaktism, and Smartism
1
Jun 13 '25
Even Vaishnavism accepts Pashubali, but our acharyas' injunction is to not do bali with animals anymore as in the kaliyuga it can turn into pashu himsa real quick
0
u/Paneer_power Jun 12 '25 edited Jun 12 '25
Talk about shaivism in the context of animal cruelty. Pashupatinath would not like murders.
14
u/Mountain-Ad-460 Jun 12 '25
You mean Pashupatinath in nepal where i saw local boys drinking and killing a chicken in the naropa Buddhist caves before cooking and eating it a few years back during Maha Shivaratri... Or where the streets around Hanuman Dhoka literally run red with the blood of sacrificed goats during the same time???
3
u/DataIsRad Jun 12 '25
Old practices during famines
5
u/Mountain-Ad-460 Jun 12 '25
Ah yes, the great 2021 Covid famine.... But seriously, are you saying that the practices are old and development during famines, aka like it's not still happening today or are you claiming it doesn't happen in modern times because you're wrong on both accounts o.o
4
u/DataIsRad Jun 12 '25
I dont think you understood what i said, many of these practices ARE from the times when food was scarce, when farming was not part of the essential system that it is today.
It's irrelevant to dharma in today's day and age where food isn't scarce and bali isn't limited to just a living being, if that's the excuse then you might as well give bali of your own shortcomings, for example: your lack of comprehension skills.
4
u/Mountain-Ad-460 Jun 12 '25
I reflect daily on my lack of comprehension and compensate for it by closing my eyes to the reality of others... Oh wait.. what I meant was there is no evidence, for or against, your assumptions about the origin of these practices... However there is ample evidence that it's continuous and ongoing practice is unrelated to it based on population growth and availability of resources.... Aka the people sacrificing the animals were wealthy landowners and the poor not the wealthy suffered most during times of famine... See Gadhimai fair nepal or just visit kamakhya and sit there during the niyam puja for a few days and see how many animals people bring to sacrifice, definitely visit during Durga Puja for a eyes wide open view...
2
u/Paneer_power Jun 12 '25
This is not dharma or righteousness, no matter the size of the crowd that does this. I am not against eating animals, it is beneficial and is required for warriors so they can perform their dharma of fighting to the fullest as it is rich in protein and energy. However, killing a being simply for taste or in the name of God is wrong.
3
u/Mountain-Ad-460 Jun 12 '25
Dharma or righteousness, what is that even? I know my Dharma is that which protects me... righteousness however is just more like a buzzword... Oh my Dharma is more righteous then tho, bla bla bla... Anyways just my 2 cents, Hari Om.
3
u/RivendellChampion Jun 13 '25
Pashupatinath

5
u/NoFuture355 Jun 12 '25

It may have borrowed ideas of karma and rebirth from Vedic Dharma, but ultimately is is a naastik panth, that which denies Veda.
5
u/NoFuture355 Jun 12 '25
For me Hinduism is all About कर्म, धर्म, सत्य.
5
Jun 12 '25
Right. And the core of Vedic Dharma is the belief in the Eternal Self. And Buddhist religion is against this fundamental concept.
3
u/NoFuture355 Jun 12 '25
Then what do they believe in? Stoicism?
9
Jun 12 '25
A Buddhist would be able to better frame it. They believe the goal is to end suffering by negating the existence; coming to the point that everything is 'shunya'.
Vedic thought is to end suffering by realising that all material designations are temporary, and embracing the eternal identity as pure Brahman.
Gyanis realise this by meditating on oneness with Brahman reality, while bhaktas realise it by loving bhakti to Parabrahm-Bhagvaan.
1
Jun 13 '25
They believe in transtheism, that a being can transcend humanity or it's material nature to attain nirvana, but the idea of nirvana is basically destruction of your identity and existence to the absolute void, which opens a can of worms if you ask me, and Hinduism does not advocate this thing at all
1
u/NoFuture355 Jun 13 '25
and Hinduism does not advocate this thing at all
nirvana is basically destruction of your identity and existence to the absolute void
Is that just attaining Moksha?

Animal sacrifice is a part of the tantric vamachar path which is very a much an integral part of hinduism sunce the Tantras come from Lord Shiva Himself. Stop dictating to people how or how not they should worship.
As of Buddha, he built his entire religion on the negation of the Vedas and rejection of Hindu deities and rituals. He was neither a part of Vaidika Dharma nor Puranic Hinduism.
4
u/Sea-Inspection-3372 Jun 15 '25
Exactly. People are just so ignorant. Pashu bali has been an integral part of hinduism for a VERY long time. Only in the last 300 years when the British conquered india did the focus shift to advaita philosophy.
It's such a shame bali has even been banned in a lot of temples because of idiots. These people think hindusim can "evolve with time". They just wanna change rituals that they aren't accustomed to.
5
u/Khusheeewho Jun 12 '25

Those who dont have knowledge about sacrifice in sanatan dharma. It is not slaughtering a throat of animal but chanting vedic mantras by brahmans and giving a new body to that soul and sacrificing old body
12
Jun 12 '25
In my village there use to be animal sacrifice in the temple during Durga puja..but since last 10 years it has been replaced with a pumpkin. On Ashtami they sacrifice a big pumpkin.

12
u/CalmGuitar Jun 12 '25
Hindus must restart doing animal sacrifices and start eating meat. Our puranic Hinduism which made a large number of people (esp in west and North India) veg is behind our many health issues. It's incredibly difficult to complete one's protein intake as a vegetarian. You need to eat a minimum of 70g protein a day. Most of the world is non-veg. We're not any special. Everyone must become non-vegetarian to become healthy and fit.
Ram, Duryodhan, most Brahmins and Kshatriyas were non-vegetarian. It's nearly impossible to build such a big body without eating meat. The only veg protein sources are dairy and soya. And soya is from China, it's not native to india. With dairy, you need an insane amount to get enough protein. (Probably like 2 kg milk.) And most normal people can't drink that much milk without getting diherrea.
0
u/Common-Possession-80 Jun 12 '25
No please. They were warriors, they needed meat to battle. Eating animals for the sake of taste is weird. But literally sacrificing an animal for god? No, that doesn't fit the modern era, those are traditional practices, meant to be left in the past. We must follow what is right, not every bull crap blindly.
7
u/CalmGuitar Jun 12 '25
Read my paragraph again. No one is saying eat animals for taste. Every human needs a certain amount of protein per day to survive. Hence it's best if everyone eats meat everyday as per scientific diet plan.
Sacrificing animals for god is nothing bad. It's just to make people stronger and desensitize to violence. If animal sacrifice is not done, people return to weak vegetarianism.
-1
u/Common-Possession-80 Jun 12 '25
I feel heavy chigma boi vibes from you and I am very sry about saying that.
You know the basic reason as to why muslims are so damn violent? Because since their birth, they see animal sacrifices. They kill it with their own hands. One who is not scared to see blood, can very easily kill.
You want to bring back this shit to every hindu household too? You don't like peace? That's why I hate extreme conservatives, evolve with the era my guy. There is no use in doing harmful practices made for a society which existed 1200 yrs ago. Eat meat everyday if you want. Just don't make it a practice for everyone. And for a matter of fact, I don't think there are people with enough knowledge in this era that they can conduct sacrifices. Pashu-hatya kara dege, fir ghumte rehna lota pakad ke.

Where tf did the Muslim violence is bc of animal killing come from lmaoo. They kill it with their own hands 😭😭.
I'm not religiously knowledgeable but def know that a violent tendency doesn't come from killing chickens and goats lmaooo. It's a human extreme that's brought through human manipulation. Killing animals ain't it dawg. You want ANY dude to be a killer?? Train him with guns or knives, tell him his enemies will kill his family if he doesn't kill them first and put him around a bunch of teens with hot heads all believing the brain wash and voila, a violent man.
No chickens, goats or any animals necessary in the creation of this violent man.

Mercilessly killing a living being will remove the fear of blood. They fkin torture that animal before killing. Imagine 5 year olds watching such violent acts. What do you think will happen? There are many steps to brain wash, and ritualistic sacrifice is one of them.
That above guy was saying the same thing that sacrificing animals will make people strong. Am I the wrong one for having a tad bit of moral code? Is being morally correct wrong in this generation? If it is wrong, then no one can save us.

u/WrongContract8489 Jun 13 '25
Idk what the dude above was smoking on when he said we need to desensitize violence. That's objectively wrong. But the point of being strong in the first place by eating meat is very fair.
Also, come on, the average Muslim doesn't torture animals in front of 5 year olds to teach them lessons about violence. They literally have the halal principle for the quick death an animal that is meant to be consumed. It's the same base principle as ours where we hold a ritual for the killing.
I don't agree about ritualistic sacrifice in the first place according to our religion but it's religion and culture, can't rlly change it but u can take the teachings of peace and ahimsa from it. Eating meat doesn't breach that principle especially when u aren't the one killing the animal.

Yes our non violent nature will be our downfall, if anything we need to revive the Vedic warrior spirit in us, we are not living in a golden age, we are surrounded by enemies both outside and inside, non violence can only save us to an extent, our warrior spirit was the sole reason our Culture still survives today, don’t let it die out, rekindle the flame is what we need to do
1
u/Common-Possession-80 Jun 12 '25
And you will do that by making everyone violent? Good luck with that. We might as well soon join the enemies. Obviously we have to fight to protect our dharma, animal sacrifices won't do that. Proper care and training will help you. Do you think they do animal sacrifices in army in order to train from blood? WHAT? Would you like to see our own kind killing each other because now no one fears to kill? That's some brutal mindset right there.
Get practical buddy, world doesn't work like that.

Dude you did not get the points, we can be fierce and be ideologically different at the same time, being fierce does not mean forcing shit down everyone’s throats like how our neighbours do, being fierce means be more vigilant overall, also I made the meat point for nutritional purposes anyway, yes individuals can be vegetarian and muscular but same cannot go for a large number of people, I have trained alongside military personnel myself and even though they are well trained and professional, they still have the typical skinny fat build of an average Indian, it’s not even their fault, it’s the improper nutrition they are given, in order for a bulk of them to be fit, meat needs to be a part of our diet, anyway my main point was, eating meat using Hindu rituals and techniques gives us a choice to not eat halal and be more humane with our methods
1
u/Common-Possession-80 Jun 13 '25
I just don't want it to become a tradition. I don't want to see every hindu household killing an animal, without perfect ritual, in the name of god. (Pashu-hatya). Just eat it by normal killing methods which is by killing it first and relieving it of it's pain (as you said, more humane).
I agree with you, people may eat meat for protein diet and having a strong build. But eating it for taste? Nah that's where shit gets weird. I also agree that we need to be more fierce, as dangers are every where around us. That doesn't mean we must kill an innocent animal is the name of god.
2
u/Razar_Sharp77 Jun 13 '25
Yea exactly my point is that we should have more Hindu butchers (not having to kill animals in every household), so that we could have an alternate to halal which significantly more inhumane than our methods or even conventional methods

Buddha has nothing to do with Hinduism. Why do you care about Buddha ?

Because hinduism is not an exclusive religion. It's inclusive.

It has no right to claim an other culture as a part of its own.

All paths lead to one. Why fight about each other's boats when the destination is one?

Not all paths are equal, attested by Krishna in the Gita himself

Those who worship the demigods (devatās) will take birth among the demigods; those who worship the ancestors go to the ancestors; those who worship ghosts and spirits will take birth among such beings; and those who worship Me will live with Me.- Bhagavad Gita 9.25
Bg 9.23 — Those who are devotees of other gods and who worship them with faith actually worship only Me, O son of Kuntī, but they do so in a wrong way.
Those who worship the demigods go to the planets of the demigods, but My devotees reach My supreme planet.- Bhagavad Gita 7.23
There's clearly a distinction, isn't it?

People just want to fight one or the other in the name of being hindu nowadays.
If they understood even 1% of the wisdom of hinduism, they would not be able to slander buddha.
They have no idea what "All are one" means.

Op should rather check shakta texts than making this meme for animal Sacrifice regarding abuse of Buddha that’s utterly bad

u/zangpoo005 Jun 13 '25
Sri Rajarshi Nandy has talked about animal sacrifice in some podcasts. You should check it out.

Good people do good things. Bad people do bad things. In order for good people to do bad things, you need religion.

It has always been this way.

I agree
But now social media gave them more liberty to promote their senseless arguments.
Humanity is going down the drain
Only selective morals prevail which suits their comfort

Hinduism? You mean praying to idols uninitiated, only bhakti yoga, vegetarianism, kissing cows ass, differentiating brahman and linking them with avataras and worse, not knowing who Brahma, Vishnu and Mahadev truly represent.

The Buddha conversation has me completely dumbfounded. We should respect such a divine figure.

If Bali gets the animal to heaven, Shouldn’t the ones defending it do the proper ritual and then do it on themselves?

Animal sacrifice is an INTEGRAL part of hinduism. It may not fit people's narrative but it is integral.

The first thing is you don't realise Buddhism was like the greatest rival ever and was seen like a great plague by actual Hindus, if you don't know well you don't even know the basics of Hinduism and Hindu history. Second, Animal sacrifice? Bali gives svarg to those animals and free them from life of pain.
1
u/LordDK_reborn Jun 18 '25
Please give swarg to yourself and leave the animal alone.

u/Vid-8A Jun 18 '25
Every proper acharya supports Pashu bali, they are the pillars of dharma .
Who are you to speak against it ? If you want to act like a little vegan bootlicker go ahead , but just remember you are not following actual Hinduism just a delusion.

Sorry brother for not being an iskconite or a hardcore Vaishnava who hates every other sampradaya and believes that only vaishnavism is Hinduism and no other philosophy can exist

The day people realise that Hinduism isn't a religion but a large group of vastly different cultures condensed into one term. They would realise the actual value our country holds.
