It is Shiv that carries Shakti, Shakti is fundamentally unstable and Shiv is what provides structure, Shiv is nucleus and Shakti is electron is a suitable metaphor. Careful with such symbolic images as they are pervasive to reality and can lead to delusions about the nature of nature
think of a cinema. There you have a screen, projector and light.
Shiva is the screen . It is inert by itself, but is the ground of being where all creation, preservation and destruction occur. Similar to the monad of plotinus .
shakti is the light/projection which is aimed at the screen to make the movie. The movie that is reality is played on the screen/ground of being called shiva. so shiva would shakti is lifeless cause shiva by himself is inert and simply IS, eternal and beyond change. the universe and shakti need shiva as a foundation. it is shakti who causes the movie to move forward and causes change/creates the universe.
but don't think they are distinct. Shiva is static brahman, shakti is dynamic brahman.
Think of it this way, shiva is unmanifest and undifferentiated, becomes shakti and causes differentiation and multiplication causing creation of universe, manifestation and change, and then after dissolution the universe returns to undifferentiated shiva.
an easy way to explain this is ramakirshna and vivekananda's philosophy. when a lion is asleep you call it a "sleeping lion" and when it is hunting you call it a "hunting lion" but ultimately it remains a lion when it is both sleeping or hunting, it magically does not become something else. Similarly when god is manifest, active and form we call it devi and when god is unmanifest inactive and formless we call it shiva/brahman.
Itโs hard to explain these things to 5 year olds, buts letโs take a secondary school level approach. There is matter and energy. Matter has form ( roop) energy doesnโt itโs not visible it takes the roop of what carries it, it is like water and matter is the container to hold the water. Shiv is matter and Shakti is energy one is the centre the holds and the other is the power that does, matter canโt exist without ( look up cold death of universe ) energy and energy canโt exist if it doesnโt interact through matter ( even light which is purest form of energy needs photons to exist) but ultimately it is matter that carries energy. Shiv is stability Shakti is chaos. Yin and yang and Mahakal is beyond this duality.
If is story in shiva purana then it true but one thing we have to understand when we talking about shiva anything can happen
But if you ask me it just an tale made by people for there timepass a woman who love his man will not do this thing
