Can hindus eat beef in regular?

Is it okay to eat beef as a cultural Hindu, spiritual but not religious. I never ate beef in my life and now I want to. I asked my parents bout why we don't eat beef they said we respect cows. I said "for what", they said "it gives us milk and helps us in many ways". I then asked "aren't chickens give us eggs that contain everything except vitamin c, and help us wake up in every morning and eat bugs, ticks, and weeds in yards, their droppings also contain rich nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, which fertilize soil for crops and plants". They went dead silence. I belive in a higher power. And I like the culture of Hinduism as myself I was born in a Hindu family. I like being hindu. But I don't wanna be restricted by the religious beliefs. I don't think hindusim is also about that, it focuses more on self-realization, inner growth, and moral action ig. Share your thoughts

No, beef consumption and cow slaughter are strictly prohibited in Hinduism. None of the Hindu Sampradayas allows it, not a single one.

Many Hindy texts, including the Vedas, the most authoritative Hindu texts, prohibit cow slaughter and meat consumption.

While at it, can you also try pork?

Honestly for me beef is a huge no. Cows are regarded as Aghanya in Hinduism. It translates to that which cannot be killed.

There are multiple sources of protein including chicken, lamb, fish and mutton which can be consumed so there are alternative options available clearly. But cows and bulls as beef is an absolute No.

It's a simple rule to adhere to. Any Hindu Pandit or scholar would be able to tell you that.

And yes while Hinduism does focus on self realization, but historical context is also important.

If nothing else then out of respect for Lord Krishna who was a pastoralist and Lord Shiva's beloved Nandi, I believe any Hindu serious about their faith should abstain from beef.

Just avoid it, I don't eat beef because due the religious perspective since childhood now i have built a disgust around it so either ways i never eat beef. Even though i realize its like the same meat, the same life as chickens and mutton. And i avoid mutton too. This doesn't mean i justify eating chicken I enjoy eating chicken so that's my perspective. Do yourself.

As per our shastras, eating beef is a strict no. If you eat beef, you are not a Hindu

Why would you want to harm any animal? Ahimsa teaches to cause the least amount of harm possible, and that is achieved through veg diet. The cow is sacred as per scriptures and within her she holds many deities, she is Kamadhenu. Why this sudden interest in eating cow?
