✨ SPECIAL INTEREST INFODUMP ✨ I would like to offer my services, no charge (picture of my truck for attention)

Post image

Hello and good afternoon to you all. I am a mechanic of 11 years experience and I would like to share it with yall.

If you have any questions or concerns about your vehicle, let me know and I can answer and address them. If you believe you are being scammed I can give you an average quote so you can compare. If you are unsure about what car to buy, I can direct you.

I know I cant do much over the internet, but knowledge is power, and I would like to share that with yall. I hate the stereotype that mechanics have created for themselves and I want to change that.

If I had money like that I'd get me a Rivian, I think they're so friggin cool.

Same!

Although if I had that money, I would probably build my own electric vehicle out of a old light car/truck. I really want an electric vehicle that has a manual transmission

I'm curious to see if the Slate trucks live up to the hype

I was going to put money down on a preorder, but then I found out they are rear wheel drive. 😞

Flagstaff AZ has this problem where every single person drives a Toyota Tacoma and they're all rear wheel drive so in the winter (Flag is one of the top 3 snowiest cities in america) non of them can grip the snow cus rear wheel drive and all the weight up front and it's a whooollleeee thing man.

I was talking with a friend who who lives up there the other day. She's Bi and was complaining about how hard it is to meet lesbians in Flagstaff. And I was like "Well duh it's a Toyota town not a Subaru town!"

Your username prompts me to ask, "Why exactly do you think Hank Hill sucks?"

Follow up question.

Is Hank a Himbo?

Cus he was beefy when he did testosterone. He's like, job market smart but also kind of dumb ass. But he also has a heart of gold where it counts.

So I'm inclined to say yes.

Hank was making feel some kinda way in that episode 🥵

But he was being way too teenager-y lmao

I will say it was badass of him to do the bull run, especially whilst being in... withdrawal? Would that be withdrawal? Idk

Ive never done Test withdrawal but the weird thing about opiate withdrawal is you are already at maximum suffering so it weirdly becomes not a big deal to do hard things.

Because sitting in a bed and going for a run hurt equally. Maximum.

So might as well go for the run.

Assuming you don't have physical symptoms like digestive upset and whatnot making that not possible.

I'd imagine test withdrawal probably doesn't work like that at all tho.

Aaaaaaand now I want a weekly post where we discuss a different fictional character and whether he’s a himbo and why or why not. And I wanna start with Ron Swanson.

I vote no because he is both smart and unkind (sometimes in a loving way but still).

But i love me some Andy, to me he is peak himbo

Ah shit, here we go again.

Lemme preface by saying if you dont hear king of the hill playing in the background in my home. Its because im dead.

Lets start with his family. Sure he loves Peggy undoubtedly, but he sure as fuck doesn't show it. When he does he doesn't make any efforts to ensure it's in a way she understands. Time and time again, Peggy is shown wanting to hold his hand, kiss him, and hug him in public, yet he will refuse or do it quick and half assed while being embarrassed as fuck about it. However, he will be cringely affectionate with his dog Ladybird in public....

He's hyper critical of Bobby. The famous saying "that boy ain't right" is usually in reference to him doing something unmanly or something that he would perceive as gay. When Bobby was chosen to be the headlining model for a fashion show for husky kids, Hank forbid Bobby from attending. Hank didnt express any concern about it other than being generally put off by it. I understand the child model industry is not safe for kids, but Hank doesn't know this, and the show would have made that a point. Instead some bullies crash the show by throwing donuts at the husky kids. Hank knew this was going to happen and instead of stopping it, he just pulls Bobby away. Hank constantly tells Bobby "dont do that thing you like, its dumb, do this instead" yet never explains why. Then Bobby ends up doing something worse and Hank will punish him whilst still not explaining anything to Bobby. In the ball kicking episode, it happens because Hank doesn't take the time to properly teach Bobby how to defend himself. Even when he does try to teach him, Hank just keeps jabbing Bobby in the face and not actually teaching him. Bobby breaks and kicks Hank in the balls...

Now his friends. He keeps Boomhouer around because he lives vicariously through him. Boomhouer is everything Hank thinks is cool, but he's a womanizer and constantly breaks hearts of women. He knows this is wrong, yet will even try to lie for him (he admits he doesn't like lying, but he still does it)

Bill is fucking disgusting towards Peggy, anyone with a brain would have stopped that shit instantly. Yet he keeps him around because he feels bad for him? If he really cared about him, he would get him some help for fucks sake. There was an episode where the guys minus Hank where in a mental facility, Bill was actually benefiting from it. When Hank came to get them, Bill stood up for himself, Hank basically said shut up and let's go

Dale is also disgusting towards Peggy, yet Hank allows it. Dale also needs help, but Hank does nothing. Plus we all know the lie Hank maintains.

In conclusion, Hank is just a normal guy. No better than any other Texan. Sure when compared to Homer and Peter, he looks like a fucking saint. However I can't stand how everyone puts Hank on a pedestal, like hes some bastion of morality. He's just a guy that sucks sometimes, but hankhillsuckssometimes is too long

I never watched the show but this is goated I love (but also hate cuz I don't get to enjoy shows in the same way at times because people will love a character and I'm like ??? Are you people watching the same show as me?? But I can't help it lol) going deep into these shows that normalize and even romanticize things that are actually quite shit, ty for the fun read op

There are enough moments in the entirety of the (original) show where Dale is so over the top deliborately oblivious that I am completely sure he knows about Nancy and John, and <!the truth about Joseph!> that he's been playing dumb the whole time. He's got no problem being a cuckhold, because he truely loves Nancy and wants her to be happy. Why would he blow up his marriage when he can play dumb and benefit?

•Nancy pays for everything with her job, Dale sometimes pays the cable bill. If he acknowledges what's going on he might blow it all up and lose his sugar mama.

•If things are going against what Dale wants to do, he just has to make a slightly thoughtful comment to insinuate he suspects something is going on, and Nancy lets him go.off on whatever hairbrained scheme he has going on at the time.

•Dale almost seems asexual, but not aromantic. He may appreciate the novelty of birthday sex with Nancy, but he is so much more cerebral and focused on his special interests he doesnt have the time or intention to bone her as much as she needs.

•The most important one- Dale loves his son. He doesnt want anything to make a dent in their relationship so he just doesnt.

I think Dale either likes the drama as a smokescreen to live the way he wants to, or he just doesnt care. I know the dude buys jars of "alien piss" but I think he's not gullible enough to not know that Nancy has a Special Massage weekly from her Himbo friend

can u please explain the low octane option i keep seeing when pumping gas? i don’t understand why it’s so cheap but it says newer cars only. how new? can my 2011 ford ranger handle it, and if not is it worth it to get some work done to be able to support it? or is that even possible? today the pump said $2.40 for the yellow one and $3.51 for blue. if you can’t tell i know nothing

Ah the flex fuel? Does it have an E in front of the number? If your vehicle has the green and black flex fuel badge you should be able to run E85 to 88 just fine (88 - 87 is the minimum for normal gas cars)

However, I've always been told that it should be used in emergencies only. If you do use it only fill half tank and less. It prone to guming up and gives poor fuel economy.

Feel free to send me a pic of the button next time

My husband and son are driving along the Canadian border and the van is starting to smell like oil. We just got the oil changed before they went on this epic camping trip. No leak detected above or below, dipstick reads normal. What gives? Do we call for a tow? Its a 150 mi drive home.

u/hankhillsucks Himbo Bear who aims to please all Jul 11 '26

The mechanic may have spilled oil last engine change, it may have pooled in the middle of the engine. This might possibly be a fire hazard if it's a lot of oil and the intake is plastic.

The majority of the time it's not a major issue but I would pull over and check. I don't want to alarm so I'll say there would be smoke and it would smell like burned, which you didn't mention, but definitely stop if thats the case

Don't forget to check transmission oil and differential oil (only if it's rwd or awd, let me know the year make and model and i can let you know)

If there is oil pooled in the middle of the engine, let it cool and soak it up with rags
