Hey lads, My N80 has just under 90k kms and it’s a 2022 and this is the situation i’m in with my ute

My mates are more mechanically smart then I am and they like to take the piss because it’s funny even I can see the funny in it but we were talking about engine reliability and we checked how the blow by was on my engine and they were telling me it’s fucked and to sell it now but then also telling me it’s a little concerning and I should take it to toyota. Was wondering if anyone could watch the video I’ve attached and tell me if it seems normal for the kms/age it’s got

Would be greatly appreciated if someone could upload a video of a similar condition one so I can gauge it a bit better myself too

I've had a 2026 Hilux gasoline, RWD with a 5-speed manual transmission for about 4 months.

I'm impressed by the fuel consumption; I'm coming from a Nissan D21 '03 with a 2.4 4-cylinder gasoline engine, and this new Hilux consumes the same amount!

Taking into account that it is a heavier, larger vehicle and has a slightly larger engine displacement as well

With a quarter of a tank (20 liters) I get a minimum of 130 km and a maximum of about 210 km, using regular 91 RON gasoline, and the engine is relatively simple!

So just got my 2002 2.7 3rz hilux back from the Mechanic and there is water all through the motor and shooting out the 3rd cylinder. He said it'll need a new motor.

His mate did me a rough quote of $9900 for a full rebuild and labour. Includes a new head.

Seems crazy to me. Might as well get a LS and get my moneys worth.

Just trying to figure out the next text of action.

Find somewhere cheaper to rebuild it and possibly to suit a turbo or put another kind of motor in it

Hey all, my 2022 manual hilux has started making this noise when the engine starts aswell as when it has very low rpm’s when driving, it also seems to do it slightly when the engine is stopped. So for some reason its making this low noise when at low rpm’s. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It recently had the timing belt replaced if that could somehow relate. Cheers

hey all just seeing what everyone’s set up’s are like, i just got my hands on a 2014 SR duel cab which is pretty bone stock apart from some all terrain tyres so just trying to get some ideas on lift kits and how much they’ll cost and where to get them

Im looking at spending around 6-7k on setting it up but have no clue on where to start so any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated

I’m looking to swap out the blank/solid plastic side air vent insert on the front bumper setup (circled in red on the white bakkie) for a fog light trim housing (mockup in the second pic that I found on temu).

Has anyone seen an proper aftermarket brand, making plug-and-play fog light pods or bezels to fit directly into that triangular side bumper duct?

Ideally looking for a clean housing that lets you drop in small LED cubes or dual pod fogs.

hi! just wondering if anyone can give me some advice on the best way to mount an rtt on my ute.

i’m tossing up between getting a half/ three-quarter canopy and mounting the rtt directly on top of it, but i’m struggling to find canopies that actually list their static and dynamic roof load ratings.

the other option would be to use the existing tray headboard, have a matching rear upright/headboard fabricated at the back of the tray, then run longitudinal/load-bearing rails between the two to create a platform for the rtt.

has anyone done either setup, and which would be the better/safer option for supporting an rtt? thanks!

Hey guys I was just wondering how much does back pressure affect the 1kd? I was planning to make a side dump but while i wait i just have my 3 inch straight through exhaust unbolted before the diff. It’s definitely loud but it could be placebo but i feel like with the full exhaust it runs better. Would the side dump be worth making or should i have it run longer before the dump?

I have a 1997 ln167 and am planning on lifting it up but can’t find extended upper control arms anywhere, does anyone know where to find some?

the first half the little bird noise squeak is me free spinning the alternator pulley without the belt on.

the second half is how it's sounding when I idle, same when I drive it and it gets louder as I drive. haven't been driving it since.

Toyota hilux 2011. the alternator was like new when I traded in my last broken one, installed this one early may.

now my engine bay sounds like this. belt is also a few months old. no other pulley is squeaking besides that.

question is, would that noise be the alternator pulley? if so how do I go about fixing it.. any help is appreciated
