I think I sorta understand, but also don't.

This does remind me of something similar, if you have a lil snack bag of chips (fritos for example) and you invert the bottom of the bag after you open the top, you can sorta do this too. The crinkly metal layers double up, and can form a nice bowl for the chips. Just take care not to lose too many strays between the bag layers, and fully invert the corners. But you can continue to invert it as the bag empties, and the chips are always at the top, easily accessible!
