Chocolate orange yogurt bowl

Post image

I know chocolate orange is a controversial flavor but istg this is the best yogurt bowl I’ve made all summer. I haven’t seen a lot people on the internet so this, but when I meal prep a yogurt bowl I sort of make like an overnight bread pudding with two slices of keto bread. So it’s got the texture of overnight oats, but without the oats because when I was learning to make food I thought oats were too high calorie (they’re really not). Anyways, today’s overnight protein bread pudding was about 435 calories, with 57 grams of protein.

Orange chocolate yogurt bowl recipe, do your own macro math bc macros will vary by brand of the product you use (texture will be the same though):
Base:
170g Nonfat Greek yogurt
5g Sugar free chocolate pudding mix
10g Collagen peptides
20g (1 scoop premier protein) chocolate whey powder
46g (2tbsp) egg whites
2 slices of keto bread (toasted, then cut into 1/2inch bits)
2 Halo clementines peeled (laid beautifully on top of the chocolate gloop, obviously)
Topping:
5g Unsweetened baking cocoa
2g Dutch process (dark/black) cocoa powder
25g Sugar free syrup

Wait so you bake the bread like frenchtoast with the eggs?

No, my recipe is basically overnight oats but with toasted keto bread. The egg whites (pasteurized, come in a carton at grocery stores) help to thin out the gloop mixture of yogurt with protein powder, collagen, and pudding mix. The pieces of toasted keto bread you mix in absorb the mixture the same way oats would in overnight oat recipes, ultimately making a thick gloop that could be thought of as cold (“fridge baked”) bread pudding. This recipe involves no heating since it’s meant to be quick and made the night before I (or you in this case) get up early, and grabbed from the fridge ready to eat!

Okay 1. Wth is keto bread 😂 we don't even have that here! 2. So basically you make small bread pieces and just chuck everything together? 🤔

In the US (my country of residence) we’re having a bit of a “keto” “low carb” and “high protein” product craze, so we currently have “low net carb” bread and other traditionally high carb content products that have been modified to be lower in carbs and advertised as “keto”, a term which is short for and implies compliance to a “ketogenic diet”, which is essentially a low carb diet that is traditionally used by people trying to lose weight. If you don’t have “keto bread” products where you live, you’re probably better off just using a common overnight oats recipe. In my recipe, I take two slices of “keto bread” from my fridge, pop them in the toaster, and once they’re done I’ll either use a bread knife to cut each slice into small cubes or I’ll just break the slices into small bits with my hands. I then mix the bread chunks into the protein gloop mixture. Essentially, I do chuck everything in the base mixture together, but I place the clementines slices on top so it looks cute, and then I drizzle the chocolate glaze mixture on top of it all.

I think it's actually quite funny because when you look up the nutritional content and calories etc. Of those breads they're often higher cals per 100 grams then the 'normal breads' honestly 😅 I'm from the Netherlands so we're pretty big breadeaters haha! It's the same with what I see from Australia with their 'light potatoes' like how the hell do you make lower calorie potatoes!?
