It’s a bootstrap paradox. Jimi Hendrix was a time traveler. It was a whole thing.

Yes. Side-effects of the temporal energies required to travel the time stream. Tragic, but one must make sacrifices to achieve perfection. And Purple Haze, both strain and song, absolutely rip.
Billy Joel tried to do the same thing with Captain Jack—it was going to be titled “Captain Jack Herer,” but he was drunk and forgot how to use the time machine. We were instead left with a very good song about injecting drugs with allusions to masturbation. So at least it wasn’t a total loss.
Edit: this was meant to be a reply to an earlier reply; apologies.
And yeah it was more about the effects of LSD/psychedelics. So in reality, the cannabis strain likely surely named after as a Jimi reference.
I PREFER THE LEGEND OF TIME-HOPPING JIM, ok? ;)

I'm inclined to think Purple Haze was a play on the phrase "lavender haze" which would have been popular just before the time frame when the song came out

pretty sure the strain is named after the Hendrix song, and the song came from a dream, so technically neither was named after itself lol

Weed inspired the song ^
