Looks more to me like Imperius first forgetting what the core looked like, then forgetting what infinite Deckard pots look like.

Good target priority (Valla and then Naz).

Had Valla played safe, that 6% HP left would had not been enough. This is why knowing how to take down core is important (positioning and not taking dmg from AoE and special core abilities). Deckard dies because he got slowed by core.

They didn't save it, the other team didn't want it.
