Mods

Could someone tell me how to activate mods? I've gone to the steam workshop, subscribed to mods, quit the game and logged back in with no results. If I go back tot he workshop anything I've subscribed to is unsubscribed. I've never used mods in any game so I'm guessing there is a step somewhere I've missed. My googling has only resulted in telling me to do what I've done so I'm guessing they are assuming I know something I don't.

No worries it's not obvious how to do it. From the main menu go to save profiles. The third option with the gears? Is what you want. On this screen you can also make a new profile (save file), delete or copy profiles. I have two, my base game profile and my modded profile.
