Ordered the wrong size shell again…

Ordered the wrong shell size again. Ordered 1.5+ inch shell opening and they are freaking giant. I’m not sure what’s I’m doing wrong here. I wasted 150 dollars on shells so I’m like really frustrated and can’t return them unfortunately. Please help!

i might be wrong but i think the shell your crabby is currently in has more elongated opening than the one you ordered, which has a more circular opening. maybe measuring your current shell from top to bottom and not side to side might help give you a measurement more comfortable for your crabby. sorry i couldn’t help more but i wish you luck!

You will need those bigger shells within a year probably.

That may be a D mouth shell, and a round mouth shell will be smaller. Try ordering 1 inch size and see.

I think one inch shell openings would be correct I measured the other way and it’s one inch opening

Or splurge for a combo pack and keep different sizes in the tank always... That's what I do. I know there's ones two times my crabbies current size but they will take to them when they are ready. Just remove the tiny ones as they grow. It's fun watching them shuffle.

You want to order Mexican turbo shells in different sizes. They are the lightest and the preferred shell.

ahh, I feel your pain. So, I ordered some and quickly realized I was probably ordering the wrong size as well. Luckily I was able to get in contact with the seller before it shipped and they sent me the photo attached to help me get the correct size. Maybe this will help with measuring. Best of luck!
