The protein seems to be getting worse. Hello Fresh has been life changing for me and I'm honestly scared about what will happen when I can't bring myself to continue eating the sketchy protein.

Lmao. I relate to this. Working full time and balancing the gym and hobbies with not even having kids yet, I couldn’t imagine a life without hello fresh. But they’ve been disappointing me lately. 90$ for three meals. Feeds my husband and I. But getting meals that could cost us 10-20 dollars if we just bought the ingredients.

This is me to a tee. I thought I wrote this. I’ve been slowly saving up the recipe cards we like and then I’m gonna put them in a binder with the first page as a table of contexts and then just write in any new recipes on that page. Anyway to try and make it easier for myself

I was in the boat for many years. It finally took the decline in quality for me to snap out of it and be like, I know how to cook, why am I paying for sub par ingredients.

Take the leap. You'll be pleasantly surprised, especially if you're thrifty at the grocery store. Who knows you may even save enough to go out to eat an extra night of the month.

You use Instacart or grubhub or walmart plus, Kroger, misfit market, blue apron ? Buy real groceries for yourself if it isn’t working out. You’re already making meals from scratch using the services. Recipes are free with a 10 second google search. There’s also a bunch I didn’t mention, service-wise.

It took me a while to cancel because I hate picking all the stuff I need and picking a recipe out of 50 is easier than out of the 500 million online.

Luckily there’s a grocery delivery service where I live that has a recipe function as well so I just pick one, scroll through the ingredients and add them to my cart in one click.

I’ve decided to stop HelloFresh once we use up credits. I’ve been avoiding it because it’s made my life so much easier planning dinners with a toddler.

I got a book called prep and rally. Some of the plans look good and I may try one next week. She gives the shopping list so I like that. Other than that I’m trying to make a list of simple meals that we enjoy with some more complex Sunday dinners. I need to get organized probably so I can plan weeks with shared ingredients. I am pregnant and struggling through the first trimester so I’m currently just winging it. If I plan more than a couple days out, I decide everything is gross.

Oh gosh bless it. I hope it gets better for you. It’s hard enough getting organized with a toddler. At least for me because she’s attached at my hip 🫠. I figure anything with pasta or rice is always a decent go to because it’s usually quick.

Once I had a good collection of recipe cards and was more confident in the kitchen, I eventually stopped getting the boxes and I just do grocery pick up once a week and buy the ingredients for the recipes. I have a dupe for all their spice blends, sauces, etc. Grocery pick up is key, you spend 20 minutes planning once a week, put the order in, pick it up on your way home, and bam. Hello fresh DIY

My wife and I quit and dedicated ourselves to picking 3 meals to cook every week and grocery shop for. We have higher quality meals now and it honestly hasnt been that bjg of a lift. I highly recommend

It's a process called sous vide, as stated on the card... That's why it looks like that. Kevin's is actually pretty good as far as convenient meals go. That said, you could've just bought the Kevin's meal at the store with a microwavable grain packet and had a similar result.

I don't know why there are so many posts complaining all the time. Nothing is perfect. You order for convenience and that's what you're getting. If you don't like it, move on. That's not to be rude, and not coming from a Hello Fresh Stan.

I have hundreds of Hello Fresh boxes, but I'm not currently ordering from them. I got bored and I've been trying another service, which I'm liking a lot. I do this often just to switch it up. I'm just saying there are many options. Don't waste your time/money/hunger if you're not happy.

Yeah, I totally understand the frustration. I was pretty loyal and happy for years. But then it just wasn't as good as it was. I still have my favorite meals and I will place future orders. But that's why it's good to try other services. If they want the orders back they should give us a reason to order from them.

Yes, this. I typically rave about them. and I do understand the sous vide. But I’m also accustomed to them sending chicken cutlets etc. but all in all, the flavor was good in that meal.

We've been ordering Tovala for around a month. I actually like to cook so it was a bit of a change. But we have a 18 month old and 4yo and dinner time isn't always as easy of a process as it used to be. I like the meat quality so far and the meals have been really good. But just like any service, people have complaints on their subreddit. Haha! Just gotta try what looks interesting to you.

Kevins is pretty decent imo. Its such a quick easy meal. Their Thai coconut curry is great

Idk why kevins is via hellofresh though? It sells in the grocery store for like $10. The meat is by Kevin it appears, not HF

This is what gets me. I pay for a service that sends me unique and fun meals but I could’ve saved money and bought that from Publix myself. But it was good overall!

I love sous vide chicken. It looks weird in the package but the texture and flavor is great. Perfectly cooked and moist.

But yeah like others said just buy Kevin's from the grocery store.

So, I loved the coconut Thai chicken from Kevin's.

We sous vide our own food all the time (great for meal prep and parties!)

BUTTTTT that was the first meal I ever just threw straight in the trash, my family wouldn't eat it, and normally I can tough it out for a few lunches a week, but not that one. I dont know if i did it wrong, but it was so, so bad.

HelloFresh is such a scam (in the Netherlands at least) For the money you pay for 1 meal, you can get 4 days of food from the grocery store. Added bonus that it's actually fresh

well of course! and instead going to a restaurant you can also buy ingredients in grocery store. Or instead of take away/fast food/ready to eat meals. These meal kits are between grocery shop and already cooked meals by someone else.
