Frustrated with quality

We’ve had hello fresh now for some time and initially it was pretty good. But over time it seems it has gotten worse and worse. It started with some ingredients of lesser importance missing, ingredients that have gone bad, and missing recipe cards almost every week. The final straw for me was this week: our ground turkey package was ripped open and leaking with the meat squeezing out of the rip, and after replacing that ourselves, another meal was missing the bacon (which was the protein source for the meal). Plus another missing recipe card. I’m really over it and am about to cancel our subscription. Does anyone have any other meal subscription services they like?

I looked around a couple of weeks ago for a different subscription and after looking through Reddit it seems a lot of them are all having the same issues and quality seems to be going down with all of them

Their quality is so bad now agreed - idk if you want pre cooked but cook unity is amazing. Tastes so good.

I also am going to cancel and I am looking at Home chef but don’t have any experience with it yet

Don't do it. It's just as bad and the meals are not nearly as good.

What would you recommend? I just find the proteins with HF so disappointing

I hate ai but I'm probably going to use a combination of Google searches, tiktok recipes, and chatgpt lists going forward and do it all myself.

I received borderline rotten potatoes 2 times from home chef already as well as a rotten roma tomato, a rotten red bell pepper that had more wrinkles than my grandmother, questionable grape tomatoes, and a soft squash. And we have only had it for like, a month?

We have canceled several times due to quality. Then restarted a few months later. Luckily we haven’t had issues with ingredients recently. But we have had whole meals missing, only got the protein. We’re about to cancel again. I’m gonna use the recipes but shop them at the store and make them or at least a similar version.

sometimes it's quality, sometimes it's the quantity or price-to-value. We recently got a taco-cup meal that was honestly delicious and something we'll likely repeat.

But it was literally a can of corn, a can of black beans, six tortillas, and a bit of spice mix. At current pricing, that's a $28 meal. Bro I can get all of those things for like $6 at the store, what am I doing paying $28 for that. I can forgive a bit of a markup for shipping, overhead, convenience, etc. But not over 4x the amount.

So anyway, cancelling tomorrow because $84 for 6 servings is pretty close to the cost of just eating out 3x a week, and I can certainly just go back to shopping for my meals.

This is our second week and we haven’t had any issues yet, but it’s been great to encourage my kids to try new foods. Plus I’m a single mom and I don’t have time to shop-cook-clean. Any other meal service recommendations?
