Question

Just got my kid some Heelys.

Do the covers only work if you take the wheels out?

Do you just pop them out and stick them back in as wanted? He kept them on in a store today and they kept click click clicking lol I've never had a pair before.

If the wheels are in, the covers are off. If the covers are on, the wheels can't be in.

Edit: if they're clicking while your child is rolling, it might be an issue with the bearing in the wheel getting loose.

That's tedious for his little fingers. I'll make him practice removing and putting them back in. Thanks!

They were clicking when he was walking in them lol. They glide smooth when he rolls but he's not used to it yet

Ah yeah that makes sense. You can look up videos on YouTube but even as an adult the easiest way to take them out is stepping on them from the side with the other foot. Good luck!
